i think out local talents stand a good chance in the AI contest. Yun nga lang...it's "American" Idol...so that rules out any pure Filipino participation.

In terms of singing talent alone, I'd go with Sarah Geronimo. Kung pati performing (with dance), probably si Vina Morales. That's just a personal opinion, though.

sayang out na si jasmine, gusto kasi ng mga judges di mo lang dapat i-maintain singing qualities mo dapat improve mo pa. tingin ko si diana na mananalo gumagaling sya as the contest goes on, di gaya ni fantasia naka-todo na.

they should've booted out fantasia instead of la toya. ang panget sobra ng voice. boses ipis na iniipit... hindi ko ma imagine na ganung boses ang i play ko sa radio ko... hahahaha...

jasmine is much better than fantasia in terms of voice quality... kulang lang ng excitement cguro...

They're looking for an Idol naman and not a voice talent... there are a lot of other shows looking for just voices. But they want someone that can cause a frenzy with the teen/young market. Good singers aren't guaranteed good performers...

Just think of Madonna vs. Celine... parang ganun. Of course if you get both, then you end up being an icon talaga.

But then again, the show never really came out with a real star that rivals the becomes a household name in a particular genre like Britney, Cristina, Branch, Alicia Keys, etc.

It's just a great way to earn money hehe.

Take Regine for example, I can listen to her album for hours, but ask me to watch her perform... puts me to sleep hehe... I can watch Britney dance all day though, mute ko lang TV :P
