i think it's the best move na nga for the govt. to rid ourselves of these manufactuing internationally owned companies.

they claim na taloo sila sa mga imports, and they want protection. so the govt. to answer their cry eh nag-iimplement ng protectionism, but to what benefit? eh mahal din naman pasa nila sa'tin sa locals. what these companies are doing are mercantilism, yun tipong dito nila produce pero the bulk of their products eh control ng kumpanya kung saan binenbenta sa mundo.

it's 2 way: we adopt manufacturing or globalization. if manufacturing, magkakarun ng mataas na tarriff to protect these international companies claiming that they're manufacturing for us. if globalization, walang manufacturing, madali na i-lessen ang tariffs sa imports, and therefore, mas lalo pa mag-mumura ang tsikot, but not in the near future.

kasi wala na factors iisipin pa yan car manufacturers na dito sa Pilipinas ganito kalaki customs tax, dito sa Vietnam ganito. if we portray to the world the laisez faire or free market type of economy tayo, mas generous ang presyuhan nila sa'tin coz madali na i-compute.

so tama, dapat paalisin na dapat ng manufacturing dito. that goes the same with ACER. imagine dati may ACER dito sa Subic, dahil andyan na nag-iisa lang ang mahal ng computer. eh nun wala na sya, and totally dependent na tayo sa imports ng IT technology, kita mo parang calculator na ang computer, pwede mo nga bilhin out of the box sa national bookstore eh

masyado pina-pacomplicate yan car business, hindi naman nila totally ma-cocontrol yan prices kung walang manufacturing, eh globalization nga eh, if they price their cars in a monopolistic/cartel type of way, then ang bibilin na lang tao eh subok na like toyota or mitsu or hyundai, so ganun din yun Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Ford will shy away from the cartel eh kasi liit market share nila eh.

i say we rid this country of manufacturing para mawala na ang protectionism na hindi din naman tayo ang direct benefit.
