Free MRT rides given to PWDs

Persons with disabilities or PWDs will continue to enjoy free Metro Rail Transit (MRT) rides until Saturday (July 23) as the nation observes the 27th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week.

With this year’s theme, “Tagisan ng Lakas, Talino at Talento: May K… Kaya Natin ‘To”, the National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP) hopes to achieve a greater awareness and deeper understanding of the condition of PWDs in Philippine society.

As for the free rides, the NCWDP said persons with disabilities may travel the North Avenue-EDSA Taft Avenue route of the MRT by simply presenting their Transportation Discounted Fare Identification Card, which is issued by the NCWDP.

Application for the fare discount IDs are entertained at the NCWDP office upon the submission of required documents. For more details, contact the NCWDP office at tel. nos. 926-1165 or 929-8879.

Hmmm... putulin ko ang pinky toe ko... eligible? :D

Nice gesture by the MRT, and thankfully, the trains are accessible to PWDs because of the elevators. Unfortunately, once you get on the sidewalk, it's a different story. Thanks to those P***ng inang fences on EDSA, some sidewalks are nearly impassable to wheelchairs.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

yung senior citizen ID really is good, pero bad thing about pinoy they overdo it, or they find a way para maka isa... sample you want to buy a medicine at your drugstore instead of a regular paying costumer, you uses or let your elders buy the medicine to get discounts, para sa akin wag naman ganun be fair, dadating din tayo sa edad na yun

Its better to be a .....LIFETIME FREE!!!
