    Update on the electricity rate increases. Some key points:

    NPC and expanded VAT increase (approved): P 0.2181/kwhr ($0.00389/kwhr)
    SB 1950 potential increase (for approval by the president): P 0.5752/kwhr ($0.0103/kwhr)

    Total impact: $0.01416/kwhr

    Current rate: $0.1086

    New rate: $0.12276

    % increase: 13%

    We can't do anything about it. No amount of complaining that consumers would do, it would fall on deaf ears. Any promise for "reduction of rates" is always lip service. Think back: any electricity charge roll-back in the past is almost always negated by a bigger increase in the future. The best way to save-up on electric bill costs is to lower the consumption of our households.

    that is because most of our power is powered by fossil fuels.

    if only the bataan nuclear power plant was put into service...

    haay buhay ganyan talaga puro increase pero decrease naman ang kabuhayan. sana pati sweldo lalo na sa mga arawan eh ma-increase na rin.

    Prices keep on running away from us (consumer). Pagbabawas ng household consumption... cguro instead of 8 hours, 6 hours na lang ang paggamit ko ng aircon sa gabi.
    ... makikinood na din lang ako ng Darna sa kapitbahay, hehehe

    yung Petron tumaas na rin ng 0.50 cents. Buti nagpafull tank na ako nung sabado.

    I wonder why we won't try those wind turbines to generate electricity , libre lang naman ang hangin. Environment friendly pa.

    I've read somewhere that wind mills are not that efficient as compared to regular power plants.

    For one, you cannot predict the wind. There might be times when it will be very efficient, there will be times were no wind will blow for several days.

    Plus in aesthetic conscious Europe, they claim that it "destroys" their landscape since the windmills looks like a giant mirror and sound like a giant washing machine.

    plus ang windmills kelangan ng sobrang lawak na lugar kasi maliit lang ang nagegenerate na power ng isang windmill..

    ang maganda yung mga solar panel roofs pero expensive naman..

    sir mazda, yung bataan nuclear naman, nakakatakot lang gamitin if iisipin natin paano nagmamanage ang government baka naman sub par ang material na gagamitin pang repair etc.. dahil sa pagtitipid then may mangyari lang na accident
