^ i guess it's more to observe and learn how to prevent, and need be, contain the deadly virus

according to cnn this morning, the infected african dude who died recently in texas has passed on the disease even though protocols in the hospital were supposedly strictly observed (apparently it wasn't wholly observed). somebody dropped the ball and everyone over there is quivering in their texan scrubs

Sa US nga katangahan nila kaya't kumakalat yung ebola... Una di fully protected yung mga health care worker. Under observation nga pero nakasakay pa ng eroplano.

There should be a law against breaking quarantine, especially for an outbreak this bad. Am wondering why US Homeland Security hasn't stepped in.

Caught Noli again on TV, discussing how prepared PH is in case of an outbreak; di ko na pinatulan, changed the channel when we brought up those OFWs miners in Sierra Leone again

i saw on the news this morning about a call center in Makati being raided for having agents working illegally in the country...most of not all are from Ivory Coast, Cameroon, etc. Ivory Coast shares a boarder with Sierra Leone.

Maybe it is just a matter time Time to update my prepper gear...

What can go wrong on a cruise liner???

Hospital Worker Who Handled Ebola Samples on Caribbean Cruise - ABC News

A Dallas health care worker who handled clinical specimens from an Ebola-infected man from Liberia who later died is on a Caribbean cruise ship - where the worker has self-quarantined and is being monitored for any signs of infection, the State Department said in a statement.

yup, hand sanitizers, hydrogen peroxide, brass and silver rings (they are actually effective against pathogens; they can inactivate viruses within a few hours)

    Hwag mabahala.
Handa raw ang DOH pag pinasok na ng ebola ang bansa.

Yan din sabi ng mga govt agencies natin noon kay Yolanda.

Well, it's practically impossible to screen passengers for positive infection.

The american doctor who volunteered in africa was screened and he showed up negative, hence why he got to new york. It was only after the symptoms arose that he was tested positive.

An unsuspecting carrier can just pop in a pill to deal with the fever and board a plane (or alight from it) uncontested. I'm no expert, but if this is possible, it's not only PH who will be in trouble.

We have a more deadlier disease here in the Philippines actually.

And it affects mostly people in the government.

I just signed a COC (Certificate of Conformity) for customs clearance purposes of 80 ambulance units from Ulsan, South Korea (Hyundai H1) to Lagos, Nigeria.

These will be driven across borders to Monrovia, the capital of Liberia.

Obama is giving special attention to Liberia, he has a personal connection to the place. Black American slaves started this tiny country.

Palace defends Garin, Catapang visit to quarantined peacekeepers | Inquirer News

This is what's called "connivance of the highest stupidity". The reason why the peace keepers have been isolated is simply because they are "presumed" to have been infected by ebola. Then here come the highest officials in charge, hindi naman daw nakakahawa pa or not yet infected kaya no need for safety gadgets. Eh kung hindi pa nakakahawa, why then quarantine ?

They should hold the highest control of spread as it's assumed the peace keepers are infected thus their quarantined.

    IDSA : Ebola Quarantine Statement

This should shed some light to your questions. Medyo bad timing lang talaga pagpunta nila siguro or they should have stated established facts why they went there with no hazmats suits ;)

IMHO, they are not "stupid". They know the risks to themselves and to the public and for them it is negligible/acceptable. If the risks are not acceptable to other people then as previously stated they should cite their grounds/evidence for doing so.

Ibang usapan pag ang nagsabi na mali ang ginawa nila ay isang infectious specialist, then patibayan na lng sila ng kanilang mga rason.
