2nd question what happens when they do achieve it??? You don't expect them to stay still right???

    Ans 3rd paragraph negates it.

In Pinoyland, the goal of "achieving" is to prove something to friends, family, neighbors, enemies...

it's culture. one of life's main goals here is to "prove" something to other people.

So after they achieve that? they slack off. mission accomplished e.

That's why in Pinoyland, pag may bahay na, may sasakyan, kompleto sa gamit, some money in the bank, pa-relax relax nalang. Higher learning? For what? what's the point?

Then they haven't learned anything from their achievement.

    :fly:

Edit achievement comes with learning and you could never have enough success.

Yep. That's why in the Land of Baseball and Apple Pie, there is no limit to what people can achieve.

UP really has no choice as they were not able to commercialize their vast land holdings. The facilities were not really maintained but it was the quality of teachers that made UP what it is. But in recent years, a lot of instructors went to La Salle, Ateneo & UAAP because of the relatively low pay they were getting because of the salary standardization law. They needed the increase just to avoid the detereoration from getting worse.

With regards to the choice between programmed/course based learning and problem based learning. It is not really a choice. courses are designed to give you information about certain subjects. It is up to you to try to apply what you have learned into real life situations and convert that information into knowledge.
People always tell me to think out of the box. My answer is that you have to be in a box first before you can think out of it.

Buti pala naabutan ko pa yung dating rate (lecheng STFAP yan!), but this piece of news is still saddening.
wtf? really?! when will this take effect? would the MA-level be affected too?
