Exception tawag diyan, outlier.

For every success story you point out because of hard work and perserverance, there are dozens of other stories of people who tried as hard but didnt make it simply because the circumstances werent as favorable for them.

Being a squatter is not an issue here... if you've done your best and you're still poor then perhaps we can say the circumstances are really unsurmountable. (Although I must say, pag ma sipag ang tao there are more chances that he will earn something more).. i remember reading a story nung panahon ng Ondoy.. when a lot of squatters.. were asking for help.. there was this one guy na nag libot and nanguha ng junk (plastics/ bakal etc) kasi nag kalat... I suppose that person made more than those na nakatanga lang....But i digress...

Being squatter is not an issue.. being a squatter na nga and buraot is the issue... mahirap na nga.. masma pa ng ugali... I meet a number of poor people who still have values.. marunong pa mag thank you and have a concern for others too....

What is being brought out here is people that dont own the property...tap into illegal connections.. pollute the land...cause traffic..commit crime.... and some say they dont have the choice....? sure they do... thay can choose to live in their own porivinces.. or choose not to have electicity and live what they can afford to have.. or at least throw trash in the right places... but they dont....

Nakaksama talaga ng loob to pay freaking high taxes and see the government support these kind of people....

haaaay.. kaka higblood.... maka pag chicharo nga....

    *jut703, words of the enlightened.

I am always thankful that we can afford to give our children a comfortable life esp during their developing years. AC 24/7, they can sleep at noon well into the afternoon kasi nga malamig sa buong bahay, they can eat anything they want, they travel overseas kahit infant/ toddler pa lang. .

While I wish the same for these poor people, di talaga nila kaya e. Magkaiba ang circumstances namin.

Back in UP Diliman, I've met a diverse set of people from the poor trying hard to make ends meet, to the rich pretending to be poor (and the poor pretending to be rich )

That's where I realized (first and only public school kasi na pinasukan ko ang UP) na magkakaiba talaga ang palad ng tao. We can never compare ourselves to others. It would be selfish and arrogant to do so.

Back then, I earn my own money and pay for ALL my expenses kasi I'm a technical enthusiast (computers). So I earned off that skill. I can say they should do the same pero what if they don't have the same acumen or brain power to do that? Likewise, I don't have the skillset to plant and grow veggies.

The fact is, they have loved ones that they care for, too. In the provinces where we travel to, I usually tell the people I meet there na Manila is a big pile of trash.

They come here mas-shock sila na ganito pala dito and they end up in survival mode.

Some people aren't happy taxpesos are being spent on the poor pero saan ba dapat ang mga ito? Should we just leave them to die? I'd wager that they don't like their circumstances too.

Back when I was young, studying at montessori, marami akong naging kaibigan from the squatters area. They taught me to how to make a toy, that stick where you fasten a can lid on as a wheel. We'd roam and roam around happy and carefree. They are people too.

Instead of CCT (that useles 1,500 per month stipend), the Govt should just put industries near these relocation sites. Factories. Recycling plants, whatever. Napakalaki ng resources ng Govt.to do just about anything it wants.

Pag gutom na kasi family mo, you will do anything, literally, just to alleviate that.

    TRUE.

What we lack is the cheap BLISS housing that's very accessible. (add to the fact that we have a very mismanaged transport system) Pag-iisipin mo kasi, kapag daily wage earner ka malaking part na ng sahod mo ang mapupunta sa pamasahe.

The "matino" ones will move on to relocation; these are also the guys who may be renting from the "syndicates" or professional squatters/. These guys also usually have blue collar jobs or are gainfully employed. The problem is it only takes a few eggheads (these are your die-hard professional squatters who earn from the land they squat on) to mess things up; these guys are also the ones who will "rally" the more level headed squatters to stay put.

3:30PM ng hapon ako pumasok sa looban, buo ako ng lumabas and made friends with them.

    Peace out!
