Most of the time, never. But, I did use the horn often for a short time in Turkey. Over there, that's how motorists say hello. I guess they liked the rental turbocharged Opel Vectra I was driving. Of course, I returned the favor everytime. I used the car horn there in that short period more than in my whole lifetime elsewhere.

I use 5 short bursts if I want to give warning. I short burst to give thanks to fellow motorist or greet guard of subd. Long blare so as to say #*%*!!!
