People join because of what the company offers; and leave because of their boss.

Yes. Because I'd rather deal with a low salary and great boss than a high salary with an a hole boss.
True for all the resignations among my friends.
Yes. The bank pays for the fuel. I'm not sure about the maintenance.

Tired and sleepy but I feel good. I think I'll have iced tea later to wake me up.

I definitely agree, and the statement goes beyond just the employee's relationship with his/her N+1.
Employees also leave when they feel that not only is their line manager is a douche, but also when they feel that management as a whole doesn't have any clear direction on where they want the company to go.
False dichotomy - high salary doesn't automatically mean an a-hole boss.
It's possible that if you move to a job with a better compensation package, you might end up with a bad boss. But then again it's also possible that you end up with a good boss. Perhaps not as good as your current boss if you think your current boss is perfect, but good enough that you get the best of both worlds - a good working environment and good pay.
It's up to you if you want to step out of your comfort zone to take that risk and grow professionally. 😊
When I was younger I cared a lot about the car package when I evaluated job offers. Eventually I realized that it's just one of those "pang-silaw" that could distract you from more important considerations like career growth and learning.
