    Yeah. Feel bad mostly for the employees as some of them have been around since i was a kid and even when SM, Rustans and Ayala built groceries in the area, Shoppers soldiered on.

    ^ i used to buy from there too since i once briefly boarded (tama ba ang term? hihi) in the area when i was in college. malaki ba damage? i saw pics of the tragedy from my ahs alum viber group early this morning at akala ko extinguished na iyong sunog sa mga oras na ito

    update lang: i just saw another set of pics and the fire is apparently still raging on

    Quite unlikely I do hope. It would be a waste of cash flow to put up a mall or condo on your own, with SM and Ayala right next to you. It's also well patronized, properly maintained and well stocked unlike the usual tell-tale signs you would see with other establishments that got burned (Uniwide? :D)

    It's that type of establishment where you know some of the employees since you were a kid, and they continue to recognize you as you grow up and have your own kids.

    Cakes were good and cheap too.

    Sad development for the employees who are with Shopperville "for decades"

    In the news, the owners stated their intent to rebuild, and retain these loyal employees....

    Hoping that this will come true real soon.... Mahirap ang mawalan ng trabaho,- especially for these people...


    BTW, we will be in the area tonight to meet with some relatives,- hoping beyond hope that traffic will be "light"...
