I'm tempted to buy perfume but I said to myself that I won't be buying "wants" anymore, just "needs"

This is a good mantra. It'll help you budget better, and motivate you to find a higher paying job if you really want to indulge in more wants.
I was scouting the job market a week ago since I wanted to have more budget for my investments, but I decided it's better not to be a jumper and stick it out first for the next 3-5 years. Will probably try to find a sideline instead to be able to supplement my current income.

Thanks. That's what I said to myself exactly. I need a higher paying job to buy my "wants". I used to buy clothes monthly but now I do it every 3 months na lang ata (and only a a few pieces). I don't care anymore if I wear the same clothes over and over. As long as I look decent.

It helps to have a monthly budget for clothes. If you wanna buy expensive stuff, then save a few months' worth of your clothing budget so you don't overspend. Not sure if it works for everyone, but it's been helping me stay within my budget.
I also apply the same for all other spending categories (nights out, dates, toys, travel, etc).

Yup. I used to have a monthly budget. I even had an envelope before where I set aside my budget. If I go over, then I deduct that amount from next month's budget. But now I just lost interest in buying clothes, shoes or make up. I am glad travelling is not one of my luxuries. That's where most of my colleagues spend their money on. I'd be so broke if I were a travel person. hehe.

I only spend money on clothing and shoes, IF AND ONLY IF there's a need for them AND they are on a big sale....
It's a good thing also that wifey and our kids are not into buying the more expensive items....
