So we like to stick to stone as I see other comments having no problem with this.

I am now convinced that this is a design flaw as the sink could not be placed farther from the wall thus the plywood is too narrow to support the weight of the stone. Unless a professional can get over this problem, we decided to replace the counter and the board with PVC sans the sink for now.

As for now the decision is to replace the center island which has a small sink to a two tier counter with a full sink and a bar counter still using stone. This is a cheaper option for us, and I hope I can sell my center island at a good price para makabawi konti sa gastos [emoji16][emoji1696]
Been doing what we do for quite some time. Always feel for the homeowner as I'm 1 1st, builder last. Have seen pretty much everything. Those that fail, those that require periodic maintenance & those that serve like old Toyota workhorses....Again, decisions are all yours to make. I can only share long-term reviews. Watch those seams & joints on stone tops. Silicone & resin seals won't last....But, on the brighter side, failure gives us reason to get something new.[emoji4]
