My firstborn is in 1st-Year HS in the same school. Tuition was P65K yata(?).

I was planning to transfer him to San Beda in Alabang pero nanghina ako ng malaman kong around 19 sections sila... Grabe!.... DLS Zobel is out of the question dahil may Grade7 sila,- sayang naman ang isang taon.... Southville, kahit katapat lang namin,- I did not consider.

One comment on ESS's style is that they throw a lot of heavy stuffs on their pupils/students,- delegating the burden to the parents to supplement (not complement),- para lang masabi, IMO, high-standard sila.... What they teach year-in and year-out are basically the same things,- with additions lang....So, there you go...

I believe that I've been to one of the better schools in our area (during our time,),- SAS HS in Paranaque,- I knew how hard it is to survive if you want to stay in that school.

However,- nothing equals what ESS is doing. Maybe times has changed,- but it doesn't sink into me....

Hahaha! Same sentiment here bro,- but on a bigger scale...

I was telling my kids that vs. a grade-level tuition fee,- I've never spent that much in my whole "5-year" college life,- in one of the better schools here in Manila pa, who was then preaching that "education is an investment" to justify their high tuition fees then...

I think every school has adopted that stance... ...

Times has changed indeed.... tsk tsk tsk...

yup. incoming G-2. from G-1 Capiz sya last year.
i would have to agree with your second paragraph, wherein yung style nila is talagang bato sa mga students and for the parents to supplement. in fact, yung wife ko is ang talagang nag-eexpound nung daily lessons nung anak ko eh. pero my impression is, pinapahirap nila ang mga simple problems specially sa math. for G-2, i reviewed the books that i got from them last saturday, and basically, same lessons, only more complicated problems. i really don't know kung old school style sya o modern style, pero talagang ganyan eh. basically, my kid loves that school, and nakaka-cope up naman sya, with the guidance of my wife na lang. yung mga classmates nga nya, after school last year, may tutorial lessons pa.

i would also have to agree with you on saint andrews school. dyan ako nag graduate ng high school eh. dyan din graduate si chieffy. paduguan ang aral dyan before, wherein maka 75 ka lang sa isang subject, masaya ka na. in fact, our class valedictorian has a general average of 79% lang.... hehehehe. kaya lang based on my batchmates, medyo nabawasan na raw yung quality, simula nung hinawakan ng pinoy director (priest) tsaka nung naging co-ed.

manresa i think is also ok. pero malayo na sa amin eh.

35-40k ata ang sa perps pre.... yung 50k+ sa seton yun. maliit pa yun compared sa DLS (i think 70++ ata plus may bond pa...), southville is also higher, asa 90++ ata. southridge is at the same scale as southville.

i remember the time where my parents used to pay around 3k/year for my tuition sa saint andrews paranaque and around 1,300/sem sa USTe.....

We've been residents of Las Pinas for about 3 years now. I have 3 kids and by next week we're moving na sa BFRV which is really close to Seton (pwede na yatang lakarin). For 3 years, we've been encouraging our eldest to transfer to Seton from CSA. This year she has agreed since napapagod na sya sa byahe. FILO (First In Last Out) kasi sya sa service nya and 5AM pa lang sinusundo na sya sa amin tapos 2PM lang end na klase nya but 6PM na nakakauwi. Kaya lang when we visited Seton to enroll, something turned her off. I've heard many good things about Seton, one of them being their students are trained/schooled daw as future leaders or entrepreneurs. Parehas kasi kami ni misis na namamasukan and it's about time na yung kids namin be their own boss naman.
