An alleged sound engineer who was presented at the height of the "Hello,Garci" wiretapping controversy died Saturday in a traffic accident in Quezon City.
A Quezon City Police District spot report revealed that Jonathan Mallora Tiongco, 36, of Ideal Subdivision in Fairview, was severely injured after he accidentally rammed his Toyota Avanza (ZHE 496) at a dump truck right across the Commission on Audit building on Commonwealth Avenue at 3:50 a.m.
Concerned citizens brought Tiongco to Far Eastern University Hospital where he died at 5 p.m. His remains are now interred at St. Peter Funeral Homes along Quezon Avenue.
The management of St. Peter's Funeral Homes has barred ABS-CBN News from entering the building.
Tiongco was presented as an audio expert by then environment secretary Michael Defensor during the "Hello, Garci!" wiretap controversy.
