ENOUGH of the long lines.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has begun reimplementing the Metropolitan Traffic Ticket (MTT) scheme and the No Contact
Traffic Apprehension (NCTA) system to end the inconvenient way of claiming confiscated drivers licenses, said Angelito Vergel de Dios, MMDA Traffic Operations Center executive director.
"The drivers are having a hard time and there are so many of them that we see falling in line," said Vergel de Dios on Wednesday.
Restraining order
The two schemes were suspended last month after the court issued a 20-day restraining order against them.
As a result, MMDA had to resort to the old system of confiscating licenses and issuing traffic violation receipts or TVRs.
With the reimplementation of the MTT, the confiscation of licenses of traffic violators is stopped and motorists can again just pay fines at any Metrobank branch in the country.
