    Who are they kidding?

The PNP doens't have the balls to go door-to-door after loose FAs owned by muslims down south, especially HPRs. I mean, why else would you see an ordinary citizen there carry his gun (whether a pistol or rifle) openly without being accosted by authorities?

    * july 2012 gunshow, me and my wife bought glock 17 gen4
    * nov 2012 gunshow, we bought glock 19

both FA's fired only when they were picked up from gunstore, they stayed inside the cabinet away from kids sight and reach the last time i checked on them, the g17 slide top surface near the rear sight started to rust i cleaned and applied oil. the g19 was ok, no trace of rusting but oiled the slide anyway. i had not checked the insides though because i am not that confident to strip them. i am also afraid that once i stripped, i will not be able to re-assemble it but i saw some field stripping videos in you tube, it looked like simple and easy thing to do , i might try to disassemble them soon.

this coming gunshow, we're planning to buy a shotgun our small time business and my backyard gamefarm are growing and i think i need something to scare any potential intruders

Anyone who has had extensive experience with a Beretta 92FS?

I figure I'd need a 2nd gun (and possibly even a 3rd) hidden in another part of the house.

My own personal experience with a 92FS
    PROS
Nice groupings * 15 to 20 yards (on SA mode), manageable recoil, stripping is one of the easiest around, interchangeable parts with M9
    CONS
Too bulky to conceal, undesirable looooong trigger pull, decocker is off-placed, no picatinny rail, non-metal guide rod, metal finish is meh IMHO

in the philippines not so much. like i said they rarely have good rental guns since it's too expensive for them. so usually it's either armscor or norinco both priced at around 10-15k which are also pretty reliable, but it's no where near the level of glock/sig/hk. an austrian glock in the philippines cost 55-65k and when it returns in stock on gun stores sigurado less than a week ubos, while usa made glocks cost 45k ubusan din.

i do, my dad has a 92fs inox that i used to carry when i first went back in the philippines. he had it since it first came out in the philippines in the 90's and till this day no rust and fires everything you feed it even buntis reloads. it's a great reliable gun yon nga lang too bulky to conceal and you need to get used to the safety. trigger pull was actually pretty good maybe frenchtower fired a d/a only 92fs? yung mga na subukan ko kasi d/a s/a yung trigger kaya ok naman and once it's at s/a very smooth na yung trigger pull.

    ^ Thanks for that.

I don't know... I just find the 92FS ***y and intimidating at the same time. I guess it had to do with it showing up in a lot of films and TV shows. The last time I saw it in was in White House Down (it's the side arm of the character played by James Woods). Though, it didn't appear to be included in the list here: Beretta 92 pistol series - Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games

Kung pure protection 357 magnum revolver or/and 12 Gauge Browning shotgun. Kung with recreational shooting once in a while, Glock 17 or Glock 19 for handgun.

If you don't want to spend a lot on a pistol, you can consider a whole range of DASA ARMSCOR pistols like the MAPP1. It comes in 9mm and is based on the Tangfolio platform so it's relatively easy to use. The frame is polymer while the slide is steel so it's relatively light. It has a 16 rd. mag so you have enough to keep would-be home intruders at bay.
