Daming hinihinge sa renewal ng Gun license, dati pinapalakad ko lang sa gun store...
Everybody has to get a License to Own and Possess (LTOP) before you can do virtually anything that has to do with a gun... purchase, transfer or renew firearms license.
The LTOP has 5 types (Types 1 to 5) depending on the number of guns you own. You will need to have an LTOP in order to buy, renew or transfer guns.
A simple analogy here is that, the LTOP is like your driver's license and each gun registered is a car under your name.

Anyone have experience with Century Arms C39-AK47? I've been going back and forth about getting the C39 or a Palmetto State Armory M4-CLF. There is about $70 difference in price(C39-$681 and AR-$752 at my LGS) but that pretty much goes out the door after I buy my add ons for either one.
If I get the AK I will be adding a top cover and a forearm assembly.

If I get the AR I plan to add a Samson Star gas block cutouts.

Been debating about which one to buy for few months now, I kinda want both, but the wife would not like that. I know that the PSA AR-15 is mil spec and the AK is a milled receiver that can only take Polish stocks IIRC.
I know they both have their pros and cons.
The AR would be easier for my daughter to shoot when I get her to the range.
But the AK has such a sweet sound when you shoot it.

well, james yeager has his stamp of approval on the C39 already. I think Rifle Dynamics and Krebs will standardize the "American" AK later on. Note however that because the gas tube isn't standard length, the rail prolly won't fit.
If the recoil is too much, you can always install muzzle devices.

Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
kinda wish we had instructors like this in the country:

The rail should work Yeager installed it on the C39 and CAI has it on their website, from the reviews that chevron muzzle device is very good. The only reason I am even looking at the AK is because that one is made in the USA, if it was one of the commie bloc modified AK I wouldn't touch that with a 100 foot pole. I wish I had to funds just to get both but I only have green light for one and from all the time going by it may have turned yellow by now. LOL
Well to be fair, AK's in the US are hardly commie guns anymore. The only surplus parts being built into them are the trunions, bolt carrier group and gas block that have to be matching parts in order to have correct headspacing. The rest are American parts and we're seeing less of them as it gains demand.
On the other hand, Zastava and Vepr make the finest factory AK's.
