I was browsing gun pictures and came across a 45 calibre colt (magazine type) and I found it so beautiful. Now I am beginning to understand other people's fetishistic obsession with 45s
Does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to acquire a 45 calibre colt in Manila including permits etc? Do I really have to fire it or can I just store it and clean it up regularly?
I suggest that you buy a shotgun, instead....

If itatago lang better to get a revolver.
Semi-autos you need to take care of a bit more.
At least yan yung advice dati. Not sure if applicable pa today
And you have to fire the gun regularly, if just to keep you familiar on how to handle it.
Mahirap na na pagkailangan mo ng gamitin di mo natandaan nakasafety pa pala o di pa loaded, etc....
Pick a low maintenance trouble free gun like a glock. Choose a caliber you can hit a target with, and can quickly require the target if you miss.

Everyday there is news of someone assasinated in the Philippines. What's more scarry is that some of them are people with authority (politicians, police officials, media personalities, executives, etc). How can common people protect themselves if even those who are capable of having security can't do anything?
To make matters worst, the government even makes it difficult for qualified citizens to arm themselves.

OTJ, based on the true story of how our government work.

So after Sig decided to make its own striker fired handgun, HK decided to make a followup of its own striker fired handgun from decades ago!
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
I guess H&K felt they are losing sales to rival manufacturers with similar offerings. VP9 looks promising and the price would appeal to a sizeable gun enthusiast market. Maybe I'll buy one? I don't have an H&k yet :-)
Kinda wish the bore axis would be lower, but heck they managed to reduce recoil anyway(according to them).

After watching a lengthy review by Sootch00, HK VP9 moves up my " I WANT" list.
HK VP9 Striker Fired Pistol Review - YouTube
Some quick comparison among same sized pistols:
Overall length
HK VP9 = 7.34"
G19 = 7.36"
W.PPQ = 7.9"
CZ P-01 = 7.2"
Sig P250 = 7.2"
Barrell length
HK VP9 = 4.09"
G19 = 4.01"
W.PPQ = 4"
CZ P-01 = 3.8"
Sig P250 = 3.9"
Width
HK VP9 = 1.32"
G19 = 1.18"
W.PPQ = 1.3"
CZ P-01 = 1.38"
Sig P250 = 1.3"
Shooting Walther PPQ * 10 yards, I drill holes on holes. 80% hits * 30 yards launching lead on gong targets. And bnib straight out without cleaning or lub. I don't know if I can get the same impression from the VP9. I like shooting and owning different guns. I like VP9 just because it is HK and initial reviews are generally positive. The only question now is availability.

Oops... Walther PPQ's overall length is only 7.1". Shortest among the bunch.
hmm... might also want to consider the lionheart industries pistol with "double action plus".
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
Yep. Certainly Lionheart is within my radar. Canik and Sphinx are also running high on my want guns. Now all I need now is win the lotto :-)
