what's up with this? it's odd that the stalwart of the Estrada impeachment is now rooting for Estrada's best friend, and almost symbolically supporting Estrada himself. reminds me of a certain lady vice-presidential candidate, only Guingona doesn't seem to have any further formal political ambitions FPJ can help him achieve. does Guingona sincerely believe in FPJ's "native intelligence" and "political will"?

I thought Guingona was a respectable leader.

    self respecting leader yata hehehe!

birds of the same feather flock together. and he looked so different with his barong tagalog on. it is so sad that only now do we see his true colors.

well, i know guingona is not that clean anyway. not as clean as he would have you and me believe. i know he influenced many things in favor of his family during his stints in different branches of government. one of my friends was a victim of that, a lawsuit that involved several million pesos which verdict he pressured from the judge in favor of his niece.

so what else is new? pera-pera din lang yan!

Wala na talga akong maisip na matinong maboboto!

Sa VP race parang wala lahat, ok na sana si Loren until she joined FPJ

What about sa president? Eddie Villuanueva na lang?

the real reason for guingona supporting fpj is this:

    1. his wife and son wanted to run as city mayor and representative under lakas, but lakas did not want to accomodate them since his wife had a reputation somewhat. his son, teofisto guingona III was considered a no-winner.

    2. guingona bolted lakas, then immediately made representations with the angara camp of ldp. the deal was sealed last december. it was only announced last week for political expediencies.

    3. guingona's wife and son are now standard bearers of fpj-ldp.

the horse was not traded mid stream so it seems. the horse was sold together with the cart of principles and statesmanship a long time ago. the price was political favor from the fpj camp.

now how low can one get, eh? wallow in mud and eat it too!

Looking close to tears, Vice President Teofisto Guingona Jr. clarified yesterday that he had not jumped to the Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino, and that he was not joining Fernando Poe Jr.’s stable of advisers in exchange for a government post in case the opposition candidate is elected president in May. Neither did the political leanings of his wife and son influence his decision, Guingona said.

Guingona had to call a press conference to air his side amid criticism from people who felt betrayed by his defection to a political camp that is the most identified with Joseph Estrada. As a senator, Guingona had played a key role in the events that led to Estrada’s ouster from the presidency. After EDSA II, President Arroyo picked Guingona as her Vice President. Now Guingona will serve as senior adviser to Poe, whose senatorial slate includes Estrada’s son and co-accused in an unprecedented plunder case.

The Vice President’s confused political identity is nothing new in this society. Philippine political parties have the durability of cheap, disposable imports from China. Parties are created around personalities rather than issues, which is why voters can rarely tell one political camp from the other. Often, parties are organized at the start of a campaign period, only to die as soon as the elections are over.

The situation is just as confusing among families. It is not uncommon to find siblings, spouses, or parents and children supporting rival political camps. No, the family members are not at odds with each other but simply hedging their bets.

Believing firmly that politics is addition, politicians flit from one party to another, and are often rewarded for their efforts. Those who can’t find a party they like create their own. The Vice President shouldn’t have an anxiety attack over the flak he has received for his choice of political bedfellows. Filipinos are used to being disappointed by their politicians.

buti pa nga dapat kanya-kanya na lang tayo eh. don't pay taxes, tear our "cedulas" and declare a revolutionary government in each of our homes, community, barangay... denounce the national government and declare a total revolution. if we all do not pay our taxes then the government will collapse, all the corrupt people will lose their jobs. the honest ones we can hire them in our "community governments".

maybe then we can make a fresh start.
