Subukan nyo rin sumakay sa bullet train nila from Taipei to Kaohsiung, travel time is only >1 hr. Maraming mga tourist spot dyan sa Kaohsiung. Normally, by car it would take you 5 ~ 6 hrs.

Taiwan is a good place to visit......

AS FOR THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE ISLAND

If you are with your GF, maganda pasyalan ang TAMSUI park.. kapag galing ka ng Taipei 30 minute train ride sa (Blue line yata) im not sure though... last stop na yun... pgbaba ng last stop marami nang pwedeng puntahan by ferry boat, 60 NT yata fare papuntang BALI lighthouse or Fishermans wharf which are parks... daming tourists dito lalo na pag Chinese New Year..

Enjoy your stay bro. I understand that you speak the language....

Real nice place, but I've been mainly to Taipei, Kaohsiung and Hsinchu only (admin and manufacturing sites)..... There's a biking route around the island and there are a lot of enthusiasts who go on a ~10-day biking tour regularly.....

I think I saw one of them on our way to Alisan mountain. A bus full of people in bike outfits with a support vehicle full of bikes. They stopped at one of the rest stops and got on their bikes.
