Try no rin bisitahin ang mga nigh market nila, maraming mga murang bilihin. Try nyo rin ang mga street food nila tulad ng grilled pusit at "chi pai".
Subukan nyo rin sumakay sa bullet train nila from Taipei to Kaohsiung, travel time is only >1 hr. Maraming mga tourist spot dyan sa Kaohsiung. Normally, by car it would take you 5 ~ 6 hrs.
Sa Taipei tuwing sunday sa St Christopger Church, akala mo ay nasa Pilipinas ka dahil sa dami ng mga Pilipino at ang mga Taiwanese ay ang mga dayo. Marami ding mga nagtitinda ng mga pagkain Pilipino sa labas ng simbahan. Masarap din ang balot nila dyan sa Taiwan 6 pcs. for 100 NT.
Sa Hsi Minding sa Taipei, mura ang mga electronic appliances (Branded ampflier) at meron silang mga sale person na marunong mag Tagalog.
Taiwan is a good place to visit......

AS FOR THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE ISLAND
If you are with your GF, maganda pasyalan ang TAMSUI park.. kapag galing ka ng Taipei 30 minute train ride sa (Blue line yata) im not sure though... last stop na yun... pgbaba ng last stop marami nang pwedeng puntahan by ferry boat, 60 NT yata fare papuntang BALI lighthouse or Fishermans wharf which are parks... daming tourists dito lalo na pag Chinese New Year..
Kung trip nyo naman nature pasyalan nyo Yung Taipei Zoo, kulang ang half day d2 pra mapasyalan lahat ng attractions...
Kung trip naman ay rides, go to LEOFOO VILLAGE, kinda Enchanted Kingdom pero mas maraming attractions...
WINDOWS ON CHINA maganda din, makikita dito ang mga miniatures halos lahat na ng tourist spot sa Taiwan nandito na, at pati narin pla yung mga tourist spot sa US like rushmoore mountain, whitehouse, nasa etc yun nga lang miniatures, he he he! basta marami pang iba and tiyak enjoy buong family dito...

Enjoy your stay bro. I understand that you speak the language....
Real nice place, but I've been mainly to Taipei, Kaohsiung and Hsinchu only (admin and manufacturing sites)..... There's a biking route around the island and there are a lot of enthusiasts who go on a ~10-day biking tour regularly.....
