Im planning to invest in a grass cutter for our lawn.

I have seen those hand held gasoline fed cutters with nylon blades and they look good.

    Anybody has experience with those?

How about the manual ones that you push does it cut faster?

There are a lot of cutters at about 4t at olx but i dont know if these would last.

Any help will be appreciated .

We had this. The nylon broke agad when I used it on our lawn because the grass had small rocks too. It's better to have the traditional grass cutter.

I normally barrow my neighbour grass cutter its fully automatic not gasoline or battery operated, it is powered by water. I just leave it for a whole day and my neighbour normally collect it in the evening for safe keeping.

for the best weed trimmers, it would be shindaiwa, stihl, maruyama.
if the nylon trimmer string breaks too easy, it is because the string was too small. try using a bigger string the bush cutter can handle. a 45c.c. trimmer can take as big as 0.105" string.

I have a Kawasaki td40 taiwan (japan design taiwan made under license from kawasaki), steel blade can cut through twigs and even small bamboo. Bought it brand new sa ongpin for P4.5k. Madami dun hanap ka lang. Don't buy the china ones madali masira. Kawasaki td40 japan costs 15k so i settled for the taiwan.

meron surplus electric grass cutter na ryobi sa olx kung type mo electric.

kawasaki din brand ng grass cutter sa manukan ko sa Bacolod, cost 15k. mag 3 years na, so far ok pa naman.

I think dalawang klase ang grass cutters, 2 stroke at 4 stroke. yung 2 stroke need mo maghalo ng oil sa petrol, sa 4 stroke hiwalay yung langis at fuel. what I have is the 4-stroke type...;)

Kung grass lang ok na ang 4 stroke pero pag brush need mo ng 2 stroke, mas malakas. 2 stroke yung hinahaluan ng 2T oil ang gasoline. 2 stroke yung td40 ko.

I have 2 kawasaki td40 for the farm. I just had 1 unit rebuilt myself, it got worn clutch, bearings and piston rings.. For 5yrs of use, Its best value for the money and its very easy to rebuild too, parts comes in kit. You could replace the strings of any size that would fit the holder, strings are cheap from the fishing supply..

I also have a goat. They are choosey, luvs to eat the mangoes but doesnt want the cogon. I use metal blades for thick shrubs but its best practice to uproot by using the plow before de- weeding.

Yung nylon strings pag may bato na tatamaan, brush cutter.

Yung sinakyan o tinutulak may suctioning effect to full the grass upward for ctting, ewan ko lang kung effective pag may bato.

Robin brush cutter yung gamit ko ocassional use lang, hirap start pag na stock, siguro may halung tubig yung gasolina samen.

Ok pa naman 4 years na, kaya lang di pa na re-grease yung kinakabitan ng blade o nylon.

Bush cutters are recommended for rough terrain but if you can, use a riding mower or a walk behind mower for flat and accessible areas. There are also walk behind trimmers(similar to bush cutters but on a platform similar to that of a mower)

    devil's advocate.

have you considered a pair of manual grass scissors?
if the garden is 'small' naman...
our pair has been with us for years, it demands very little maintenance, and is always ready to use.

get one that is easy to service, i.e., has a reliable source of 'refills'.
i would ask the salesperson to demo in front of me, the refilling process. that way, i would know just how easy or difficult it can be.
i will probably get a handful of refills, along with the unit.
