The forecast for Manila International calls for thunderstorms over the airfield. But, with the wind flow coming from the north and northeast, it's a bit drier. I imagine, if the sea breeze and lake breeze (from Laguna de Bay) sets up with the accompanying wind direction shifts, then thunderstorms will be likely since the wind flows will converge right over Manila.

I'm still convinced there won't be thunderstorms over Manila today. But, I'm not an expert over there and more than likely, I'll be wrong. But, it's still a good exercise of the rules of thumb I use. I'll check observations from RPLL later and see what factors I missed.

Add: I already missed one factor..... I didn't realize how narrow the Philippines is near Manila. The east coast of the Philippines should see enhanced thunderstorm formation with both gradient wind flow and the sea breeze coming from the same direction. So, some thunderstorms that develop over the Philippine east coast east of Manila may cross over terrain into Manila itself.

Add: For the west coast of Luzon, it should be nice so long as the northerly/northeasterly wind flow continues.
