But it ended well for me... isang tawag lang sa dispute dept. nila, inayos account ko at nag-reflect na yung tamang charges on the next bill.

Dapat pala matuwa na ko sa recent P8k bill ko sa Globe On my most recent trip, I was on roaming too. But I was only texting though I can still make/receive calls. What I did was to buy a local sim.

Sobrang mahal ng roaming data charge talaga kaya kuya ko nag data roam ng unli, I think it is USD15 per day. Bakla ba?

When I'm abroad, I always subscribe to bridge data roam. Unli-internet na and unli call and text using viber. Pag may tawag or text sa akin na hindi naka viber, inform ko office staff ko through viber to call back that person.

BILL SHOCK | Globe explains P3 million mobile phone bill
    InterAksyon.com · Wednesday, December 11, 2013 · 5:09 pm

MANILA, Philippines — One post-paid subscriber got the (bill) shock of his life when he received the latest billing statement from his telecom provider — P3,272,623.38 in total.

The bill shock went viral on social media prompting Globe Telecom to release a statement on the matter.

Early today, Globe clarified the issue that subscriber De Guzman encountered with his mobile phone bill was an “isolated case”, saying “We acknowledge that Mr. De Guzman did enroll in the Bridge DataRoam Unlimited promo last November 10, 2013. By enrolling in the promo, the subscriber would not have to pay the regular rate of P2.51 per 10 kilobyte of data.”

Based on the telecom’s record, De Guzman’s data usage reached 11,139,210 KB (over 10 Gigabytes), which would amount to more than P3 million inclusive of surcharges and VAT.

Unfortunately, the “system did not apply the correct zero rate for promos on the data usage which inadvertently caused the bill shock”, based on the initial findings of the telecom.

“We are taking a proactive step to investigate if there are similar instances in areas other than the UAE where the BDU Roaming promo is being offered,” Globe said in the press statement.

Globe also said that the telco has already reversed the charges to reflect the correct amount in the subscriber’s billing statement. Assuring subscribers that “queries on their billing statements are welcome and clarifications will continue to be given priority by our customer service personnel.”

InterAksyon.com is the online news portal of TV5, which is operated by the PLDT group, a main rival of Globe Telecom in the telco space.

Since the start of this year, magulo ang BDU ng globe. Until now di pa rin narereverse yung charges.
