    Hi All,

Can anyone suggest a good geriatric doctor? Am looking for one for my 86-yo dad. Me sinuggest yung physical therapist niya, pero he/she charges around 5k per visit. We're wondering if that's really the ballpark price these days.

i was quite surprised when one of his doctors told us that geriatrics is a relatively "new field"; baket, ngayon lang ba nagkaron ng seniors? ^_^

Also, it's a given that they do house visits right? Ang inisip namin is, if the clinic is close enough e ihatid-sundo na lang namin.

    tia

when my mom needs a check up we call this service, they have a geriatric doc. home service siya, and i think we paid 3k last time. worth it na din since my mom is 87, di na mapapagod pumunta pa sa hospital or clinic. they have their prices posted in the website.

Hinde ba pwedeng family physician gumawa ng ordinary check up? As for blood test usually meron home service yun mga labs na malapit sa into with just minimal fee.

pwede naman kahit gp. yun lang nga nung geriatric doc tumingin kay ermats e tinignan lahat pati diet, vitamins and supplements, even the slippers she uses. the doc even advised adding meats to her diet in moderation. and frankly this was one thing that i did not agree with my mom's cardiologist who forbade giving meats (pork and beef). sabi ng cardio e puro fish and skinless chicken na lang e nagrereklamo naman ang old namin. matanda na nga yung tao di mo pa ibibigay ang gusto. when i started adding pork and beef into her diet she has less severe alzheimers and has well better disposition than before. lalo na pag binilihan ko ng bulalo or sugpo ang ganda ng effect sa memory nya. and happier, too.
