I never liked Gene orejana's interviews. He doesn't seem too eloquent and his diction and delivery of words need some work. I always thought he is the weaker of the veteran ANC news people.

Now I know why he has the job. he's got BALLS.

An hour long interview with JDV is turning out to be a typical JDV spin-doctoring. He was annoying as hell and saying stupid things like (In reaction to the GMA-jueteng link and GArci tapes): "Eh kaya nga nakakapasok ang mga Jueteng lords na yan.. at drug lords kasi sa Presidential system. Eh kung parliament eh hindi na kailangan ng malaking funds para tumakbo". Kulang nalang sabihing hindi kasalanan ni GMA kung tumanggap sya ng jueteng money because the CURRENT SYSTEM FORCED HER TO. PUTCHA. The most illogical stuff comes out of this guy's mouth. makes you wonder why he is in power for years now.

The usual interview went on and Orejana was very cordial... just barely showing any signs of backbone. They were smiling ang exchanging jokes. then the closing monologue came....

Basically Orejana blatantly said.... while JDV is beside him, that all these CHA CHA is BULSHIT. that it's all a cover-up and is being shoved down our throats during the most inoppurtune time. I couldn't believe my ears and I am an avid ANC viewer.

what followed was one of the most ominous closing credits in the history of news tv. hehehe.... jdv was obviously annoyed and has turned his back on Gene. Gene is having a strange nervous grin.... They awkwardly shook hands and I was waiting for JDV to give him an uppercut. Nothing happened. hehehe...

    the end.

i am an avid viewer of Gene Orejana thru the ABS-CBN Now at the internet. Last night, after watching a few minutes, I decided to watched Pipol of Ces Drilon instead, nakakaumay na yung topic , hohumm, Sayang na miss ko yung itsura ni JDV, hahaha. Mahusay yang si Gene Orejana, simple lang bumanat, and you are right, he's got balls!

good to know some of our reporters have balls

on a side note, i stopped watching abs-cbn/anc news since the current hello garci fiasco. they have a vested interest in seeing gma go down since their golden boy noli will then be the president. kaya for me medyo hindi impartial reporting nila (as a whole ha). this is just my opinion anyway peace

ganun talaga style ni gene orejana, he just asks his questions point blank, then reserves his opinions at the closing of the program. in that way kasi e di wala na hirit pa yung guest nya to counter his conclusions. i've seen at least one guest walk out while gene was giving his conclusions at the end of the interview ehehehe! forgot na who but not a politician.

magaling si gene orejana. palaban talaga. parang si randy david nung me puiblic forum pa. si JDV naman, palaban din sa pagnanakaw, nagdonate ng 1M kuno sa govt. pero ayaw namang bayaran yung behest loan nya na $200M

well, you can't blame the guy kung tirahin nya mitrubishi phils sa show nya. the company gave him a lemon unit. an excerpt from the manila times:

"From the time of delivery to December 2003, Gene brought the Pajero a total of 18 times for repairs on various defects. In all those periods at the casa, Mitsubishi mechanics and technicians failed to repair the defects.

In the end, Mitsubishi simply gave up the ghost on Gene’s Pajero.

Hauling his lemon of a Pajero to the Diamond Motors casa for the umpteenth time last April for repair jobs, Gene was bluntly told by Mitsubishi officials that the company would no longer entertain his complaints."

The media and the lynch-mob mentality
    By Solita Collas- Monsod

I THINK I may have been one of the fiercest critics of President gloria Macapagal-Arroyo over the years, with my criticisms particularly focused on, but not limited to, her economic policy. I also admit that I may have imposed higher standards on her because she is an economist. But in any event, I would like to think that these criticisms were based on solid grounds rather than on conjectures and speculations. And they were definitely not partisan or ideological in motivation. The objective was always to look out for national rather than personal interests.
Which is why I want no part of what has to be called the lynch-mob mentality that has seemed to grip the nation, fed by, I am sorry to say, the media, which, more often than I am comfortable with, cannot seem to distinguish between generating news and reporting it. When that happens, a vicious cycle occurs: We generate our own excitement, then we panic because of it, and people get caught up in the hysteria, which then results in generating more excitement....
    ====

it goes on .. but bottomline is .. the media is powerful .. and with great power comes great responsibility ..

di ganun ang nadinig ko. i think may write-up about gene's pajero sa C! mag. i also was able to talk to my cousin who is a vp sa mmc. gene was complaining about many 'small' things sa pajero nya, nitpicking baga. para bang naghahanap na lang ng butas. yun pala gene wants a newer unit w/o shelling extra money. mmc offered to find a buyer for the gene's pajero w/c gene accepted. the unit was sold & according to the new owner, wala naman daw problem yung pajero, ok naman daw ang performance. sana merong taga-mmc ang pwedeng mag verify dito.
