I'm not familiar with hub caps, but I think it's obvious the lug nuts are holding it in. And when she realized she needs to remove the lug nuts I don't think she put a jack under the car. I haven't removed a lug nut without a jack, what will happen if you remove the lug nuts without a jack, babagsak na yung sasakyan? Or baka di maibalik yung lug nuts? Or maybe vibration pag nag drive ulit dahil hindi maayos?

in the olden days, snap-on hubcaps were very common. they were removed using a special hubcap puller or a large, flat-blade screwdriver.
sometimes, especially when installed incorrectly, they can detach and run away from the car.
also, there are many hubcap collectors out there...
thus, some manufacturers decided to make it more difficult for the hubcaps to detach. one way was for the caps to be held in place by the lug nuts.
we also notice, vios users use plastic ties to handcuff their hubcaps in place.
