i beg to disagree. our company has hired the services of a international survey company and it has been mentioned that friendliness is one of the factors affecting guests' decision whether to come back or not.
siguro kung di tayo friendly, baka yang 3.8M na yan eh less than 1M.

April 10th, 2012 10:16 AM #13it is one impression a visitor never forgets. let us just remember always that, with our friendliness and politeness, let us not bring down ourselves to contempt. friendliness coupled with professionalism commands respect. there shld be balance, dignity as a people. many of our fellow filipinos, specially those beholden to the foreign culture extends too much hospitality to the point of depriving themselves of the treatment given to visitors.
ang foreigner tuloy, umaabuso, kasi di naman tayo nagregeklamo..at ginagawa kahit labas na sa kontrata or agreement...o magreklamo man, parang naging mahina tayo tuloy, di na pinapansin. maging sa mga probinsya, sobrang kabaitan ang pinapakita sa mga dayuhan, ngunit sa sariling pamilya di naman yata ganun. gusto ko lang sana to keep dignity amidst poverty by showing respect and friendliness, but professionalism and respect shld be maintained. kahit mahirap ang karamihan, kung kagalang galang at naninindigan, may dangal at respeto pa din.

I think the friendliness attitude towards foreigners is brought up by pinoys' insecurities to foreigners. pinoys think highly of them. Kesyo pag foreigner mayaman kaagad nasa isip ng pinoy etcc....

basta ako, every month or every other month, i try to bring with me my chinese colleagues there. and it is a general comment from them that they love visiting the philippines. they even mention that it is good that they had a chance to visit the phils or else, if they will base it from the things they see and read about us, they won't go there.

Kaya 3.8 Million lang Tourist natin.
Kaya 28 Million sa MALAYSIA, our next door neighbor.
Kaya 36 Million sa HK, our 2nd closest neighbor.Last edited by marg; April 10th, 2012 at 02:45 PM.

Filipinos tend to include. When there's a foreigner in a group of Filipinos, we speak English so the foreigner won't feel left out. Maka-tao kasi ang Pinoy.
Singaporeans are the opposite. They have this tendency to exclude. When you're with Singaporeans and you don't know Chinese, they will speak among themselves in Chinese and will leave you out of the conversation. Kahit na officemates mo sila.
But then, Singapore Tourism arrivals (2011) : 13 million.
Note how Singapore solved their traffic problem. Reduce the number of cars by raising taxes. In short, implement a system where the poor can't afford to own a car. Exclude.

The MRT in Singapore is even nicer than our NAIA Airport.
Kung ganun yung Mass Transport, you don't even need a car.
What can 5 Million Singaporeans do that 100M Pinoys can't? Ganun sila ka-galing.
Singapore Tourists: 13 Million, size of Makati lang sila.
Philippine Tourists: 3.8 Million, marami pang Balikbayan nasama dito.
Walang Kwenta ang Friendly kung MADUMI at MAGULO ang Paligid.Last edited by marg; April 10th, 2012 at 11:42 PM.
3M Color Stable series are all above 50% TSER. RFID readable through the tint, stays good for...
What's the best car tint brand and color?
