They can all move to Nauru or something or other...
Strictly speaking, Filipinos are Asian/European/Malay.

Let's just say we're in the same situation as the Turks. Many can't seem to decide if Turkey is European or Middle Eastern.
As for being Asian or an Islander...... who cares. I'm Pinoy. That's all that matters.

December 17th, 2006 11:21 AM #5Hmmm. Maybe it has got to do with the U.S. government's affirmative action/equal employment opportunity policies that ensure minority races are provided conmensurate representation in just about anything - school, scholarships, grants, jobs, etc.
As Asians, we are lumped together wtih high achieving races such as the Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans. As Pacific Islanders, the competition is significantly smaller and our chances increase geometrically.
