I'm not familiar with the term. But it sounds offensive.... very offensive.

Apparently, there's a maritime heckler who frequents the radio waves of ships in the Persian Gulf. How the person came to be called "Filipino Monkey" is still unclear.

I wonder if merchant marine OFW's are familiar with this?

ginagawa kasing mode of tsismisan ng mga kababayan nating marino ang radio.lalo na kung meron silang kaibigan from other ship around .meron pa nga nang aasar pa sa mga ibang nationalities madalas between indian and pilipino.Sad to say but its true dahil siguro walang magawa yung guardia sa bridge kaya kung anu ano ang naiisip na kalokohang gawin.dami kasing pilipino mariners kaya kapag nagtsismisan over the radio lalo na dyan sa bandang persian gulp.halos lahat ng channel occupied na.pero hindi naman lahat meron ding mga disiplinado na alam ang dapat gawin.

parang naalala ko tuloy yong tsismis kay mariah C. at regine V. dati ng sinabihan nyang brown monkey ang huli.well, there's nothing wrong about it.for all we know between science and creation, there come the evolution theory wherein they say man came from the apes (monkeys).so when they call the filipinos monkeys that means the one saying that is also a monkey by origin he he he

It happen to me also back on the early seventies in Washington when I was in U.S navy na may isang pinoy (navy too)ang kumausap sa akin at ang approach niya ay "KUMUSTA UNGOY". You know, nag-react ako for calling me UNGOY so I said UNGOY karin but my tone is harsh. I think he's got my message and he kindly explained it to me na ganoon daw ang tawagan ng mga pinoy na sailor dito. In short, I did took that call.
