Basta huwag lang daw mata.... Oo, feng shui rin iyan....

To mitigate the issue,- you need to use mat on the landing, as it is equivalent to one count.....

I don't have a ceiling mirror. My room does not look like a drive-in

I can't do anything about the full length hallway mirror because it's my parents who placed it there.

BTT: No plastic flowers at home. I read on my feng shui guide that it is unlucky. And besides it gathers dust.

More precisely, the sound of number 4 is similar to death. Also with number 13, 1 + 3 = 4.

    Fil Chi tsikoteers, I know ages ending in 9 (19, 29, 39, 49, 59, 69, 79, 89, 99) should be advanced eg if you're 39 say you're 40, if you're 79 say you're 80. But then I remember my Dad's best friend said that the equivalent of 9 is also an unlucky age such 45 (4+5), 54 (5+4) or 63 (6+3) etc

How about 81 (8+1)? Should that be advanced to 82? I read some articles that 81 is a lucky number?

Isn't it that all chinese age are advance by 1 yr? regardless of the ending number.

It is lucky if it's your age. I presume anybody would have lived a full life by then.

In East-Asian or Sino-based cultures 4 and 9 are bad numbers (homonyms for death and suffering) so I guess thats one reason they advance your age even if its not your birthday yet but it is your birthyear. Example when you are born you are considered 1 year old, vs the western convention that you are 0 years + say 1 day old. Thats why they have Coming of Age Days.

Then again going by the bad number logic, if you are 3 or 8 years old, advancing it would bring you to 4/9?

Anyway 2020 already showed the silliness of geomancy. On that I agree with Kags.
