Ang problem kasi sa tilapia ngayon yung kinakain na feeds. Tapos crowded yung pond. Remember yung fish kill nangyari sa batangas. (Ang correct na diet ng tilapia eh algae.) Iba ang lasa ng tilapia ngayon. Ang lansa.

Living in Laguna, I buy my tilapia fresh from the market. And "lansa" depends really on the freshness of the stock and how the fish are handled. It's pretty obvious which fish were raised in poor conditions if you know how to shop.

Ako papayag 100% beef franks araw-araw tapos kainin nyo tilapia ng batangas araw araw yun current na setup ng mga pond owners.

i find this very informative. dili lang tilapia, bangus ang mas delikado dahil feeds ang kinakain nyan. loaded with antibiotics ang fish feeds. alam naman natin na hindi natutunaw ang antibiotics, nakakain din natin yan mula sa bangus. galunggong nalang tayo. hehehehe

As if farmers aren't force-feeding cows and pigs grain, growth hormones, antibiotics and other chemicals. And whatever stuff is in tilapia raised in Laguna lake will be in other fish from there, also.

Sir joemarski is correct. I cannot find the old thread anymore as this was already buried deep in the archive. That's why I create a new thread regarding tilapia which I saw it again in my news feed and read it again. I find this intriguing and serve us a guide for us so that we could be wary on what we eat. I posted a thread also about "Stop Using Canola Oil" in my previous thread before. Again, it is not my intention to malign or harm tsikot forum. My intention is for us to be aware and wary about this. Kindly just merge this two(2) threads. I hope this clears it all.
