Sir, i would suggest go for local store para makita mo sa actual... may mga iba2 type kasi... depende sa ano type mo gamitin...

also, may reel kana po bah? Kasi rod lang hanap mo, if yes, dalhin mo yung reel para ikabit/test sa rod na choice mo...

mas maganda yung comfortable ka sa rod at reel mo while fishing kasi nga gusto natin ma relax kaya nag fifishing hehe... baka ma stress kapa if di mo type fishing gear na gamit mo...

Fyi lang, i used 4.5 meter na rod and .50mm line capable na reel... carbon fiber rod would be good compared to metal and i used the telescopic rod para isang bitbitan na lang... goodluck sir!

meron akong carbon fishing rod with reel pero puro kantiyaw pa lang nahuhuli ko kasi di pa nagamit. rod i bought sa greenhills (yung shop malapit sa mga tindahan ng celphones) and reel sa sbma duty free. rod actually came with reel pero di maganda.

Ako naman surf/beach fishing ako... ito lagi ko dala at gamit:
- 2 sets rod and reel with holders (2 hooks each set)
- scissors, extra hooks, line and sinker (need if ever ma tangled yung line mo sa damo or bato)
- long nose (long nose para mahila mo yung hook just in case nalamon ng isda)
- bait fresh shrimp
- bucket and net (where i put my catch)
- gloves (to hold the fish lalo na yung slidy at matitinik na fins)
- chair and water


Medyo madami pero those are very useful...

narinig ko na minsan na meron nga daw bass sa caliraya, which is confirmed naman ni shadow doon sa isang thread na meron nga bass doon. interesting.
and i want to try how is it fighting a feisty snakehead.

ang layo lang ng alabang sa area ko bro. been browsing at shopee & lazada lately at marami naman ako nakita doon. it would be an abu garcia combo, masyadong mahal compared sa shimano eh.
meron din saint croix at lew's rods ako nakikita doon.

small lures are most effective sa malalalim sir, tried sabiki sa beach fishing wala pa ako na huling fish... [emoji31]
Don’t believe in wd40 even in applying in your reel for mechanical instead use the oil lubricant...

So far this my biggest catched in beach fishing using slice shrimp as bait... golden trevally..

I'm using salonpass and a drop of omega for squid bait. It's attractive sa mga squid.

Mixed na yan, meron rapala, generic chinese brands, meron binili ko sa basa Pro. Basta kung anong tingin ko na wala pa ako na Color. Kahit hinde naman nagagamit masakit din mawalang ng artificial lures.
Wala! Sweet and sour labas ng bass. Lapu-Lapu daw ng Fresh water.

For baitcaster I prefer Abu Garcia 5500 mas gusto ko Classic yun rounded ayaw ko yun mga Low profile like sa mga Japanese brands. Daiwa, Shimano.
Sa rod pala generic bass pro shop na brand. Again super Dami rin kasi for lure fishing dapat magaan and sensitive para maramdaman mo kung kumagat na isda so you can set the hook. Then magaan dahil nakakapagod mag cast ng mag cast wala naman huli.

Pero mahirap mag cast pa din pag malakas hangin... Kaya pag eggbeater Type, I prefer Penn naman. Pero Super dami na brand ngayon and models hinde ko na rin alam. Pero marami gusto Shimano. I have Daiwas, Shimano and mga bulok na brand Like Shakespeare ewan ko kung meron pa yan.

Pero i narrowed it down na to Two brands for freshwater Abu Garcia and Penn pwede din for light saltwater duty.

Basta don't get then mistake of getting the biggest equipment Kung hinde naman kailangan siguro sa atin freshwater 10-15 lbs rated pwede na, actually kung meron ka mabili dito na masbaba pa diyan 8-10 lbs mas maganda. Wala naman tayong malalaking isda na freshwater dito eh.

Abu Garcia and Penn kasi parang Toyota doesnt look good Pero gumagawa and more often than not meron piyesa. Pero alam ko Penn Now made in Taiwan or China na rin eh. Hinde ba rin sa US.

Pero siyempre kung saltwater na ibang usapan nanaman mas marami nanaman kailangan. [emoji4]

wondering kung sino kaya nag introduce ng bass dito sa atin, sana pati yung mga magagandang rivers at lakes sa mga malalayong probinsya nilagyan na rin nila. lagyan na rin nila ng trout at pike

teenager pa lang ako nun parang interesado na ako sa fishing, tho patingin tingin lang sa mga shops dito sa atin. shakespeare pa lang ang nakikita ko nun pero napupuna ko parang slow ang market and hanggang sa mawala na sa mga local shops. wala pa akong matino na rod and reel ngayon, may inuwi lang dati sa akin ang brother ko. zebco spinning rod/reel na pambata! pero natuto naman ako mag-cast doon up to 100ft+ kahit papaano
