2nd hand info that one financial company is very particular on tattoo, you will have a negative point if you happen to be applying to work for them. caveat lang sa mga gustong magpa tattoo. hth.

this is very true. not just financial companies, but almost all "traditional companies". Pero for Visible Tattoos lang yan ha. Kung nasa singit mo ung tattoo i don't think may paki sila LOL. Visible under normal clothing AFAIK.

that's why I myself do not recommend getting one until you are either in your mid 20s, stable at experienced na sa field mo, or stable financially.

that being said wag magpapa tattoo ng visible tapos magrereklamo ng prejudice pag di natanggap LOL. it just doesn't make sense, pangatawanan ang desisyon.

My dad had some. But, he was in the Navy.

Me? Nope. The wife dislikes tattoos. But, I have 11" and 3" incisions under my right arm pit plus 5 tube holes on my right rib cage. Whenever I go swimming, people would see them and wince. They often ask if it hurts.

Then, I have deep scars over older deep scars on both shins from years of playing soccer without shin guards. Them Mexicans play rough. They love to foul

I have a left upper arm tattoo.
my name, my wife and then only son's name in katakana surrounding a kanji character (kizuna).
nothing fancy. just simple black tattoo i got in shibuya as a souvenir.
planning to add another one since i have a new son.

OT. companies having adverse attitude against tattoos--> I can totally understand this if we are in the 80s when majority of tattooed people are from the prison. But we all know that is not the case today.

Nope, and not planning on getting one -- very low pain tolerance :D Mas lalo akong nadismaya when i learned that you have to re-tattoo every few years.

You can donate after a year or so. Not sure lang sa screening nun. I'll check how may blood donation drive sa company namen soon.

Ako i understand how some employers are against visible tattoos. If it affects their business then they have valid points. If you are client facing and have tattooes of demons up your neck then that definitely presents a negative connotation.

The pain with getting it has pros definitely, for me. It means not everyone is willing to go thru it. Pag may painkillers na, then what is good that. Wala na yung genuine experience.

Yung konting prejudice against tattoed people has its pros din for me. Pag totally accepted ang tattoes then baka majority magkaron na. Nawala na ung 'exclusivity' nya.

20 to 40 years from now we will have quite a number of tatted up grandparents LOL.
