Why is it that majority of the masses (CDE) do NOT value privacy?

I came across a Facebook post bashing people with locked profiles. Baka daw pangit, may tinataguan or may utang

whereas, privacy was the norm in decades past,
the norm nowadays is fame... or in-fame.

or,
"if i would do it, you probably would, too." (re. hiding because one has something to hide.)
