Dear Dr. Ing. Nah, I don't think so. :bwahaha:
Not an exact analogy. I've heard that many times sa mga jeepnet driver. So the lesson here is - you really have to be sensitive out there. Unless of course kung manhid ka talaga.

hirap pala mabuhay diyan sa pilipinas, pati damit ng employees mo mapupuna pala :evillaugh

masyado talaga mapuna ang mga pinoys dito sa'tin. you dont have to be
manghuhula to read what's on his/her mind, mata pa lang nagsasalita na.
and more often than not, the eyes convey something negative if not

pinoys should learn to become more like Americans, poker-faced
read you like a book. mas ok na level playing field yan bec. show-offs will
definitely have a hard time getting noticed/acknowledged.

try to download this audiobook from the net, "How to read a person like a
book". grabe I didn't know na andami ko kamalian sa mga gestures ko kaya
kung minsan palpak ako sa negotiations. even a simple leaning forward or leaning backward has meaning.

while I'm drinking pepsi and eating cheesecake here ayt now, lemme say something bout this from uls:

Im not a big believer in that New Age stuff... but i think one reason why the poor cant get out of their poverty is coz of their mentality. All the NEGATIVE ENERGY in their minds and communities wreck havoc on their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
    >>>yep. it all goes with the way how we think eh. it's like the more you think of something, the more it'll happen...kumbaga, power of mind. So, if you think that it's more proper for maids to wear uniform, so be it. I'd like to research on who was the first maid who wore a uniform..

umm, correction pls.... He may sound like bragging his automobile on that post but he's a nice person. Maangas mag-drive? nah, I don't think so. He was only saying his opinion. Mga dudes, kanya kanyang opinion lang to. Walang samaan ng loob.

This can be true of many jeepney drivers...

But this still does'nt mean that I should get rid of my BMW because the jeepney driver doesn't like the mayaman na ma-angas (angas nga ako mag-drive...). Neither, then, does it mean that I get rid of my maids' uniforms because somebody's sensitivities are offended. Of course, I'm taking this in the context of our freedom-loving Metro Manila society, and not all societies.

Now, if I were in Mecca, then I would not hesitate to grow a beard and moustache and veil all my maids. I do believe we have to be vigilant against prejudice by insisting on the right to be ourselves (while we can) and giving others that same right (of course within the bounds of law) to avoid becoming a similarly chauvinistic society.

    Whew... haba!

I think everyone is just airing what they have in their minds. If you are walking in the mall with a platoon of uniformed alalays, you probably won't hear anything from the people staring at you. They are just staring, but they have perceptions about you playing in their minds. This thread spilled out those perceptions.

So kung dedma ka sa mga perceptions, it means, yun nga - manhid.

    Ahihi... manhid nga me.

Actually, sir slim, the perceptions you mentioned are of something considered discriminatory (maids in uniforms at the mall). Discriminatory = bad. And you know that many people want to change the "bad" to "good."

Just trying to enlighten those with the perceptions you mentioned. What they think is "bad" is not bad at all.
