Defective Airbag Inflator Prompts Recall Of 440,000 Honda Cars

New York, NY (AHN) - Japanese carmaker Honda Motor Co. recalled Friday 440,000 Accord, Civic and Acura models in the U.S. because of a defective airbag inflator that poses injury to drivers.
Officials of the firm made the recall of the said car models made in 2001 and 2002 after reports of one death and six cases of injury caused during the deployment of the airbag.
The inflator apparently ruptures upon activation causing metal fragments to fly
Honda will replace the airbag inflator for free.
