Kaninang umaga mga 11:30 am, nahold-up ang cash and jewelries ng Papa's pawnshop dito sa kanto ng Mayhaligue/Severino reyes St. Sta.Cruz Manila.
Every day kasi umaga at hapon may Revo na pumupunta sa papas to collect and then deposit cash and jewelries ng papas.
3 policemen ang nakasakay dito lagi 1 naka-uniform. Lahat may pistols and M-16. Usually may 1 WPD mobile car na back-up with 2 policemen. Kanina wala silang back-up. Just 250 meters away from Papas, meron palang nag-aabang na maroon revo sa kanto and biglang bumaba 3 hold-up men with M-16s and Baby Armalites daw accdg. to our guard who saw all the actions sa 2nd flr. parking ng bldg. 3 long rounds daw ang binanat ng mga holdupper 1 aiming sa tires, the 2 sa windows rumatrat. Patay agad yung sa Passenger side, one of the holduppers umakyat sa hood binabasag ang windshield with his M-16. The 3rd policeman at the back seat fired hitting the holdupper at the hood pero sa balikat lang tumama. Sabay itong police bumaba tumakbo papunta sa katabing bakery tinamaan sa paa then one of the holduppers hinabol pa siya at sa loob ng bakery nirat-rat kaya patay din. The driver policeman critical ang condition pero may chance daw mabuhay.
Nag-hiwahiwalay ang mga holduppers. The maroon revo was abandoned at Bambang LRT station while the other 2 hold-uppers were seen walking to the next street ( T.Mapua) yung isang may tama sa balikat hindi mabuhat ang bag na puno ng cash/jewelries kaya hinihila nalang nya while the other guy ang nakaporma with his M-16 as lookout.
Baka hindi sila marunong mag-drive or as hostage.
Then mga naka-motorcycle policemen.
Sabi nga ng bystanders kung mabilis sila naka-respond naabutan pa nila yung 2 may dala ng cash/jewelries dahil naglalakad hila-hila yung pera bago nakakuha ng get away car.
Watch the news tonight dahil nandito agad ang 7,2 and 9.
Walang nakuha ang mga hold-uppers.
The bag containing the money was left behind by the hold-uppers somewhere around the area in one of the sidestreets, sa Makata st. daw. belt of the bag broke while being dragged and in their hurry to escape they just left the bag and fled. I was able to talk to one of the employees of Papas and a resident called up 117 and said the bag with lots of cash is right infront of her house and pinagaagawan na ng mga tambay in the area.
I dont think may kinalaman ang 3 policemen, dahil talagang nirat rat sila to death, yung isa nga tumatakbo hinabol tinamaan sa paa, tapos nilapitan at nirat rat pa close range. These 3 policemen are new daw, hindi sila ang usual guys that pick up the money sa Papas. Dumating din yung mga datihan policemen that regularly picks up the money. hmmmm.... hindi kaya yung mga datihan ang may kinalaman???
The holduppers are wearing bullet proof vests! Kaya pala the one standing at the hood of the revo nung nirat-rat nung pulis sa loob ng revo with his M-16 bumagsak sa kalsada then slowly stood up again and sa arm lang ang sugat.
No jewelries only cash. There are 2 bags containing cash. The Small bag with 2.5M cash was wrapped around the waist of the driver policeman. Nakayuko siya agad kaya hindi siya napuruhan. the big bag that they were dragging has 15M cash inside.
Binilang ko ang bullet holes sa revo, all over, Hood,Roof, all windows, windshield, doors, rearwindow more than 70 holes!
It is quite unusual that on that day na walang backup is the same day that the incident took place. Could it be that the ones who are supposed to be in the backup car are involved?
It is also unfortunate that Papa's follows a fixed routine. This can easily be monitored by a "spotter".
I do find it unusual also for a private establishment to be regularly using the public's police force for security - unless there is some arrangement like undercover work or sting operation.
passed that area past 12, and saw a two-tone maroon revo with broken windows and shields.
Along benavides, unusual na ang dami ng tao, I could only slow down not complete stop, but somehow I was able to ask one question each on two istambays; first, was what happened, barilan was the reply, and next question was ilan patay? marami came the reply.
After crossing Rizal ave, I turned left at Oroquita as normally as I would heading towards San Lazaro Street, but someone motioned us to take a detour and before doing so, I noticed that two blocks ahead, people are gathering and cars are making a U turn.
Before that:
I bought engines for our boats and was done at around 11:15, but on things I could not explain I did not left at once, instead walked along ongpin, drop by lordstow only to balk at their egg tart priced at 27.50 pesos.. walked back towards the parking lot, made a call to my sister if she was done with her intentions (jewelries) and went inside presidents' to place two take-out orders of chicken feet.
By the way, before the revo, saw an owner jeep with two shots that broke its windshields

Hmmm...
facts: money involved -- 15M + 2.5M
escorts -- policemen in uniform
establishment -- pawnshop daw or a mini central bank?
nakakatakot. oo nga, malamang na inside job yan. based on the accounts ng mga events, mukhang planado. saka, what the hell, bulletproof vest!? ordinary goons wouldn't care to have one. so big time yang grupo na yan.
mukhang malakas sa press ang owner, never saw it on tv news (late editions), internet editions of print media even on hard copies except philstar which buried deep the story in its inside pages.
It was on the news last night sa TV.Patrol nakita ko sa katabing tindahan. I'll answer some of your questions...tsismoso kasi ako hihi.
Papas buys foreign currency and pays them in peso.
Bale ang mga policemen that picks up the money sa papas everyday works for the money changer involved in the transaction. The peso cash will be delivered to the money changer. Sabi ito ng isang employee nila.
Sa tingin ko ang Papas is doing a legit business naman. If you are an importer of goods, you pay Papas peso cash and Papas naman will pay for your goods sa supplier mo abroad. No need for your co. to get LC from bank. Sila kasi may connection na siguro sa bank regarding these kinds of transactions.
Sir Ungas/Hens , siguro may alam kayo regarding these kinds of transaction since importer din kayo diba?
Ang owner ng Papas sobrang simple, she just walks around binondo upto divisoria with no bodyguards, as in hindi mo iisipin mayaman pala.
