If we had to ban every book that showed the seamy side of the Philippines, even the works of the late Doctor Jose Rizal would be banned.

Another sub human condition that my ex and I saw on TV were people catching CITY rats for food!
Dagang bukid is a delicacy in some provinces but city rats are a different story!
Dagang bukid sa taniman ng tubuhan... (alam ito ni LSB).... Masarap iyan!!! (nuong malaman ko after eating, kamuntik na akong mapasuka,- e lasing pa naman ako nuon.... many years ago na ito and during one of our vacations with friends from Pangasinan....)

I won't be surprised if some imbecile would want to declare Dan Brown "persona non grata".
Well, MMDA chairman Tolentino has already written Dan Brown a letter on this matter. 'nak ng kamote talaga oh.
MMDA 'disappointed' over Dan Brown’s depiction of Manila in latest novel | News | GMA News Online
im already 1/4 through the book and I havent even read the Manila part, they actually havent even left the citythey started on
It's a local documentary. I don't remember if it was I-witness or Imbestigador. It's somewhere in the slums of Metro Manila.
Tinamaan ata si Chairman, pakiramdam niya inde niya ginagawa trabaho nya :D
Pinatunayan lang niya lalo un entry dito sa Filipinos cannot progress if they cannot follow even simple guidelines « Get Real Post
^ Good read.
Joe America's comment:
The moral scale is sick so the disciplines to be found under that moral view are also sick. Skirting the law for personal gain is not condemned; people brag about what they get away with. They gain face by cheating and lose face only if caught. The Filipino Ego defines right and wrong not as society’s right and wrong, but as right and wrong in terms of personal power or advantage. The law is society’s definition and it is irrelevant if personal advantage can be gained by ignoring it or circumventing it.
These deficiencies are more than intellectual. They are built within the personalities, within the culture. It is as fruitless to get a Filipino to deflate his Ego as it is to get a Japanese to abandon false politeness and the penchant to hide from hard truths.
after several years.. gagawin ding movie yan.. o eh di bida na naman tayo.. dito syempre ang shooting..
I just got the ebook version.... Ill comment here once Ive read it
But I agree its a farce if we block the book and our politician go wacko for attention
