It's the thought that counts. Also, cheap price doesn't mean it's not good. I like Goldilocks Mocha Cake. I usually have 2 cakes on my birthday, one Goldilocks and one premium cake.
Layo ng price ng Conti's and we refuse to patronize Conti's dahil sa Dutertard yan. Also, maraming mas masarap na cakes na hindi Conti's.
random thoughts re. gifts.
"food is usually a good choice. we all gotta eat, 'no?" even diabetics won't turn down good food. and after some days or weeks, there won't be none left to lie around the house to dirty it up.
when i give gift, price is usually not an issue to consider. within limits, of course.
what's wrong with giving red ribbon black forest, if (it's common knowledge in the group that) the recipient likes it, too?
i want to give something that i feel they will be able to easily use and appreciate.
sa exchange gifts naman,
i always wrap something that exceeds the agreed limit of such gift. i want the recipient to be happy and not just brake even. yes, there are still some folks who are mindful of the price of the gift...
one of my favorite gimmicks in exchange gifts, is to stick a couple of escodas around a can of fruit cocktail, then giftwrap the entire thing. meron nang pang-media noche, meron pang pang-gastos.
Cape Cod artist's lobster nativity makes a splash this Christmas | Axios
by Mike Deehan

What's happening: A Cape Cod artist created a quaint version of Jesus's birth — but with lobsters in place of Mary, Joseph and the rest of the Christmas crew.
• The set has been for sale for a few years, but it's taken off in popularity in the last few seasons, thanks to billboards that've been popping up showcasing the nativity scene as part of the Snowport holiday market. The big picture: Rosemary Quantick, an English immigrant who now lives on the Cape, designed the nativity scene as a Christmas decoration honoring her adopted New England home, she told the Cape Cod Times last year.
• Instead of a Bethlehem manger, it's a lobster trap.
• Jesus is in a bed of seaweed, inside a crab shell cradle.
• Christopher Alfonso bought Quantick's design in 2023 and has been selling the lovable lobsters ever since.

MEET THE LOBSTERS
Mother Mary:
Kneeling claws together in prayer. Wearing a soft blue cape and bows on her braids.
Baby Jesus:
A baby nestled in a bed of seaweed in his shell crab.
Joseph:
Full of humility; eyes closed and claws in prayer.
