Greed. It all comes down to it.

Sobrang gusto instant yaman, instant pera. Ayaw kumayod, ayaw magsikap.

Kaya willing to do stupid and dangerous crap like this.

    Walanghiya.

It's pathetic when you think about it. The first line of assistance should have been when the OFW was being investigated and then tried by foreign courts. Let's face it. These mules knew exactly what they were being hired to do. The media can portray them as being kawawa for having no other choice, being a victim of circumstance, etc., but at the end of the day, they were tried and convicted for bringing drugs into China.

Unless someone is willing to step up and say that it was a Kangaroo court which condemned these mules to die, then our government should keep a respectful distance.

In the same vein, the Chinese should stop intervening for their fishermen who are caught poaching in our waters. We should refuse any requests to free them as well.

Hope our militant maka-masa politicians won't bash China for enforcing their drug laws.

my thoughts exactly. . .the only assistance the gov't should provide is to make sure that the person's rights are not violated even in a foreign country. . . .

let them suffer the consequences of their actions, they knew of that possibility that in the first place, pero ginawa pa rin nila

Strange...I haven't herad a howl or even a whimper from those militant pro-poor groups, especially from Migrante. Was listening to Vice Binay's press conference upon learning that his trip to China has been rejected. . Some of the questions were bordering on the moronic. "Do you think the President should personally go to plea his case?" " Isn't all the back bending for the Chinese Goverment enough to comute the sentence?" ...

At least Binay admitted that only a miracle can save them.
