anybody been to caylabne resort in ternate, cavite?
there's this sign along the road when you are several
kilometers from the resort that reads "caution : magnetic
field". it immediately struck me, upon reading the sign, that
could this be the same thing that is reportedly being
experienced also in a part of tanay, rizal?

so i immediately stopped the car and ahead of me was this
portion of the road that was gently sloping uphill. imagine my
amazement when, upon releasing the brake, the car moved
uphill! the car was in neutral, by the way. thinking that
it may be an optical illusion, i looked at the road behind us.
it was really going downhill behind us.

it was really amazing! wonder if any of you guys had a
similar experience? does the magnetic field affect only cars?
could there be deposits of magnets in that area? hehehe.
i wonder what else the magnetic field affects?

    bossing ,
totoo yan, kahit 6x6 trucks kayang hilahin ng magnetic hill. (engine turned off). inexperiment din namin. yun nga lang pati compass parang relo ang ikot dahil sa magnetic field , madami tuloy estudyante ang confused sa location. . . he he he

    that's a MYTH!

it is caused by an optical illusion wherein a downhill slope looks like an uphill.

no offense sir m2, maybe in other places maybe its a myth, but in ternate i dont think so . . . if its an illusion, how come the behaviour of the compass is such . . . or may momo na doon . . . awooooo . . .

Sa Marikina bridge din, if you're coming from Katipunan entering A.Bonifacio... during the uphill stage of the bridge, kahit full stop ka and bitawan mo brakes aabante ka hehe.

try placing a piece of marble... it will still roll "uphill"...

and about the compass thingie... a deposit of magnetite might be found nearby.

i'm not sure if that ternate place ay yung accident prone area (claimed to be because of the magnetic field). i remember na one time, dyan naaksidente yung bus carrying employees ng Unilever na papunta ng seminar somewhere there.

I remember they featured it mga a decade ago sa MGB, di daw magnetic ang lugar dahil kahit tubig nagfloflow "uphill"... so di sya uphill talaga daw kasi water has no magnetic charge.

as said by theveed... even water flows uphill...

baka yung sa ternate... sakto lang rin na may magnetite na deposits sa lugar na iyon.

How about you do this experiment:

Unwrap a large piece of aluminum foil (or even your car keys hanging by its keychain) and hold it up in the air. If this so-called magnetic field you are claiming is strong enough to pull a 6x6 truck "up" the hill, then you should see the aluminum foil or your car keys swaying up toward the direction of the top of the hill as well.

As far as I know, magnetism is not the one pulling the vehicles "up" this "magnetic hill". It's GRAVITY. And the last time I checked, gravity does not work "upwards".
