    have you guys read this book?

    one of favorite books of all time.

    here are some cultural references about the book:

    The 1997 film Conspiracy Theory, featuring Mel Gibson, uses the book quite prominently, although it does not explicitly link the book's content to the theme of mind control but rather to the bibliomania of an assassin

    American rock band Green Day, in their Kerplunk! album, has a song titled "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?" The song is based on how frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, could relate to the main character in a sense of being an outcast.

    Mark David Chapman, murderer of musician John Lennon, was carrying the book when he was arrested immediately after the murder and referred to it in his statement to police shortly thereafter. [2]. John Hinckley, Jr., who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, was also reported to have been obsessed with the book

    Read that book while I was in HS. One of the best books ever written.

    hehe... required reading kasi yan sa AHS di ba? anyway, loved the book.

    matagal narin gusto gawing pelikula yan sa Hollywood. ayaw lang talaga ni Salinger. hehehe

    Yup catcher in the rye was a required reading sa ateneo hs. Tapos sinundan pa ni glenn ng animal farm. Naghinala tuloy ako na atenista kayo...

    yup! fourth year required reading...under Mrs. Chee Kee! (mother of one of the Parokya ni Edgar members)

    astig din yung of mice and men...

    The movie "Six Degrees of Separation" mentions most of the references to the book...

    I read this book when I was senior in HS. I fell inlove with, and I decided to get my own copy.
