June 22nd, 2003 11:41 AM #11Pasali naman,
I have plans din e. I need all the ideas and tips I can get.
husengsisiw, sa province ba ganun ka baba? hindi ba french-speaking sa manitoba?
problem is I haven't been there, so I don't have an idea kung ok dun.
is it true that applications will take you 5+yrs., bago ka makalipad?
except off-course if your going to take the caregiver route w/c I think in 6 months -1 yrs ok na.

I visited Vancouver w/ my wife last sept just to survey the place dahil balak ko din sanang mag-migrate and to visit also ang sister ko dun..gandang lugar at ang daming Chengwa from HK ...but sad to say :| menial job ang naghihintay sa yo dun.....Canadian unemployment is more than 12%.....I mentioned canadian ha! paano pa yung mga permanent resident? syempre uunahin muna nila citizen nila bago yung mga newcomers....kaya nga sabi nung mga nakausap kong pinoy doon ay.....kung established na ang buhay mo sa pinas at kuntento ka na.....there is no place like home...gusto rin nilang bumalik when the time comes na marami na silang ipon at makapag-establish ng business back home.It take years for them to visit our country dahil mahal ang pamasahe... It is a good place to live... but life is difficult! Weather is extremely cold(di pwede may rayuma) ....
Opinion ko lang po ito at share ko lang yung observation ko sa vancouver,BC... peace 2 all!

Tikoyman,
Vancouver is the warmest na in Canada and one of the cleanest city in the world. sarap duon kapag summer. ang ganda ng zoo nila sa Stanley Park. I miss Eaton's at yung underground shopping nila. I miss din yung pub house na Drake at Orange 5. gaganda ng mga dancers nila.
psensya na, naalala ko lang.
Goodluck sa mga mag aaply sa Canada :D

June 23rd, 2003 10:33 PM #16ryan_pogi, I'm an offshore consultant, how 'bout u?
jesi, there are 6 factors wherein you will get a certain number of points like education, language ability, work experience etc... the total points u get should be at least 75, getting less than that would mean you are less likely to qualify for a canadian visa..
visit www.cic.gc.ca for more info..
huseng_sisiw, I think you should be sponsored by a relative living in that province to qualify ...

hi glenn, i thot engineer ka. mas priority nila kasi yun.
i have a friend who applied for a visitors visa sa canada to survey. nagustuhan nya yung stay nya, then nag apply sya sa isang company and that company is willing to assist her on her papers. kaya nag hire sya ng lawyer to change her status (visitor to immigrant).
umabot daw at least P300K ata. single lang sya.
an australian friend of mine told me na hindi daw maganda sa NZ. i dont know why, primitibo daw sila (heheh, ang sama noh). hindi daw sila ma-technology.

June 24th, 2003 10:27 PM #18somebody told me before na mas mahirap nga makapasok sa vancouver kasi medyo mas mataas ang population dun as compared to other provinces. Di ko lang sure kung tama ba pinagsasabi nun kasi nakainom na kami that time.
iv been to richmond/vancouver/burnaby, magkakadikit lang tong mga to, accessible via their LRT. Ok talaga dito. Weather is tama lang, pag winter tolerable naman with jacket of course. D kasi masyado nag-iisnow.
Also had the chance to go to edmonton. grabe lamig dito. konting ulan lang freezing cold na, summer months pa yun ah. Can't imagine pag winter and knee high yung snow. Boring din dito.
Vancouver and Toronto daw ang ok talaga. Pero toronto malupit din ang winter yata.

icon,
toronto is like edmonton at winnipeg. pinaka matindi sa winnipeg, imagine -45 deg celsius na me kasamang 2000 windchill. da best ang weather sa bc, at sabi nila, sa tsawassen daw ang best place kasi di masyadong inuulan. medyo malayo nga lang.

if u guys have to spend 86K for a filing fee (husband & wife) plus 78K for landing fee, plane tickets of 100K, tapos show money na 500K which must be at least 50% liquid or near cash.. totoloy pa ba kayo o would you rather spend that much mollah on say a business?
as above, if you want to go OEM-style, get a "spare tyre lock". but i use an ordinary cheap...
