    O.C. = Obsessive Compulsive

my definition: some extra-ordinary things you do, which may look weird or unusual to other people.
(i-search nyo nalang if you really wanna know its meaning)

    to start off, here's mine:

    - i dont use soap with hair/s on it. tinatanggal ko muna. lalo na sa food - kadiri!
    - i dont have a regular hair cut, ever since hindi nila nagegets gusto kong cut tapos madalas pag uwi ko, nag gugupit pa uli ako ng hindi pantay na buhok.
    - pag nagsuot ako ng shoes, i make sure pantay ang sintas at sikip on each foot.
    - i dont carry a backpack on one shoulder only ever since. im really utilizing the purpose of both straps.
    - i make sure to cut out the excess threads in my clothes. to avoid mahila at matastas ang tahi.

marami pang iba. can't recall all of them now. yes, they may appear as "kaartehan sa sarili" but i feel more comfortable with it since naging habitual na sakin ang mga yun.

    how about you?

    • I put all of my stuff in the same place every time --my car keys on the same hook inside my cabinet, my wallet in the same nook beside the safe
    • I make sure I am parked perfectly parallel to the painted white lines
    • I add up numbers that I see along the street --for example, if a car's plate number is XYZ-157, I add 1 plus 5 plus 7 to get 13, then I add 1 plus 3 to get a final answer of 4
    • After I roll up my power windows, I flick the switch one more time just to make sure the window closed all the way

This is just some of the more peculiar OC behavior I exhibit. Nag-mellow na nga ako over the years, kasi ang spouse ko exact opposite, kahit saan nakakalat ang gamit. I guess you could say we complement each other

I have exactly the same compulsions! But in addition to adding up the numbers in car plates, I also think of the numerical equivalent of the letters eg WMV (W= 23, M=13, V=22) hehe. I also flick the switch twice on power windows and the door lock. hehe.

    • I do not look at the toilet when I flush.
    • I arrange the money in my wallet with the face part showing and from highest to lowest denomination. eg 1000 then 500 then 100s.
    • I segment and color code my clothes eg all floral skirts together, all plain skirts together then I arrange it again according to color
    • I neatly file all my bills
    • I arrange my all my DVDs and CDs alphabetically and I make sure that the alignment is perfect
    • I have a way of knowing if things are misaligned in our house eg corner of chair should align with the corner of the table
    • I count the strokes when I brush my teeth and my hair
I have other OC habits esp at work where I color code almost everything but so far those are my most predominant habits.

    from left to right:
    1st holder = bedroom key
2nd holder = bedroom cabinet keys from left to right
    3rd holder = office key
4th & so on holder = office cabinet from left to right

Hahaha parepareho pala tayo. Ako my plates, and my cell number will give you my favorite numbers. Combination talaga. I always bring alcohol, sa auto, sa pocket. Wallet is always on my right back pocket. Cash/coins never ako maglalagay sa front pockets, kasi madumi.

    • back in elementary, I used to kneel 7 times in front of a chapel I pass pauwi.
    • then, it turned into making the sign of the cross 3 times while praying fervently.
    • for a year, coke lang ang merienda ko.
    • meron ako lucky pajamas dati.
    • same with ballpens

    will try to post more...

Eto naman po ang mga ka OC-han ko:
    • When eating breakfast, I always want to sit at the "Kabisera" kase kung hindi, hindi ako mapakali
    • When eating, I usually make sure that I close the scissors (meaning putting the spoon and fork together) after I eat.
    • When I dress up, I usually want all my stuff to be matching, from the clothes that I wear to the jewelries, to the bag and shoes that I wear.
    • I am very particular about the cleanliness of bathrooms and toilets. Usually I go to pay CR's or better yet sa isang hotel ako pupunta to use the CR.
    • Kapag namimili ako, I make sure that I get a new stock and I look for even the smallest details. I don't buy it or look for an alternative kahit mas mahal pa.
    • I don't like sharing my drinks with anyone. Kapag merong naki-inom sa baso ko, I usually give it to them na lang.
    • When I fix my room even before going to bed pag hindi ko nakitang nasa tamang angle yung isang bagay, kahit naka higa na ako tatayo ako para ayusin yun...
    • When I sit down sa mga fastfood or restaurants, I look at the seat first to make sure that its clean then pinapagpagan ko bago ako umupo.
    Hehehehehe minsan over na talaga!

Its nice to know that I'm not so abnoy pala, marami din palang mga tao na
    meron obsessive-compulsive behavior.

My O-C is mostly about double, no even triple, quadruple checking
    everything.

Especially before going to bed. I have to check all the locks on the
doors of the house and make sure they are closed. Mga tatlong
beses ko binabalikan lahat - sa last round I have to say out loud
pa "Door locked, door locked!" to really make sure.

For our psychology major tsikoteers, how do you explain this kind
of behaviour? I know its kinda abnormal but I just can't help it!

Naku pareho pala tayo Bro.

Hindi pa iyon, susulyap pa ako ulit sa mga gamit to be sure that all of them are switched off, bago ko i-lock yung pinto.

Hoy... Palit tayo pwesto!" Bwe-he-he!

-I opt for the new stock pag nagsusukat ako nang damit. I dont get the one that i fitted.
-coins and cash in the front right pocket, cellphone on the left, handkerchief in the back left pocket and wallet in the opposite. Pag naiba di ako comportable. Minsan i misplaced my cellphone to right pocket, i freaked out i thought i lost it!

    1. Can't sleep if any of our vehicles is dirty. So, even if we arrive home late at night or in the wee hours of the morning and our ride is dirty or wet/muddy because it's raining,- I need to clean the ride first before I can go to sleep.

    2. Nobody touches nor leans on our rides.

    3. Same with mikey177 on my parking preference. Also, if I have the opportunity, I would park adjacent to a column and make sure that the ride is as near as practical to it, to give ample space for the vehicle parking beside me. (Sana lang, maayos magbukas ng pinto ang makakatabi ko,- ang ilan kasi barumbado pa rin at tatamaan pa rin ang side mo....happened to me at least 2x.....)

    4. Makes sure that the vehicle doors are locked (and windows are properly closed) and park lights are off when leaving it, even if I locked them using my remote control.

    5. Same with mikey177 on the power windows....

    6. Double checks that the doors of our house are properly locked (also the windows) and the appliances are properly shutdown (ref door is properly closed, too) before I retire for the night.

Note: Iba talaga pag tsiks,- see LadyRider's entries....

i dont know if its normal ah. hehehe

    - i always bring around a hand sanitizer or kung mag sleep over may lysol ako dala. lalo na sa places na alam ko hindi mashado ganun kalinis or if im doubtful sa linis ng place. ahehehe
    - i you touch/poke my food and i saw you hindi ko na kakainin yun food ko kahit alisin mo pa yun part na nahipo or na poke. id buy na lang ulit or not eat at all.
    - same with people here toothpaste. sa dulo pinipisil pag may pumisil sa gitna inaayos ko ulit.
    - leaving the house i have to check the door if i have locked it like four times. same with sa car door.
    - yun four times weird. kase pag sumobra ng isa naging 5 kelangan kong gawing 6. ahehehe! laging even numbers dapat
    - even numbers works with volume din kahit TV Radio. kung yun volume level ko 10 pag hininaan ko dapat 8.
    - same case with the power windows. pag sinarado na i flick it two more times just to be sure. or pag oopen ko dapat open all the way or half open lang. hindi pwedeng may nakalabas pang kapurat na glass. pag may nakalabas pa half na lang or not open it at all.

i always make it point na linisin yung oto before gamitin... feeling ko kasi mabigat dalin pag marumi.

i always check on the mudguards also... gusto ko laging black yung ilalim... kahit konting talsik lang ng putik... nililinis ko agad.

    1. i always clean my car everytime i use it. feeling ko kasi, pag madumi ang oto, madumi din ako. I clean the tires, the mags, the undersides of the mudguards, the windshields and the windows and of course, the entire body.
    3. everytime i have rear passengers, i make it a point to fix the mattings after everyone has gotten out.

    computer-related ka-OC-han:

    1. my files are all stored in its respective folders. on a separate partition in my hard disk sa laptop. sa bahay naman, its on separate folders on a separate mobile hard disk.
    2. my mails are sorted based on the sender, per folder.

    sa house-related ka-OC-han:

    1. after i use things, i usually put them in its proper place where i got it.
    2. on cable storage as well as chargers, they are neatly stacked and tied before i keep it.

    sa clothes-related ka-OC-han:

    1. i shine my shoes everyday.
    2. i wipe my watch face before i use it.
    3. i check my clothes for creases, tears and missing buttons before i wear it.

    sa body-related ka-OC-han:

    1. i shave everyday, maski 5'oclock shadow pa lang.
    2. i normally consume a bottle of spray deodorant for a week.
    3. after i brush my teeth, i usually go for the mouthwash.
    4. i scrub my body using loofah, everyday.
    5. after running errands and i feel sticky, i take a bath. so pag madaming beses ako manlagkit sa isang araw, ganung kadami din yung shower ko.

forgot to post car-related OC behavior:

    • same with above, car mats have to be fixed and not misaligned.
    • wheel wells are cleaned every 3-4 days
    • absolutely no eating inside the car.
    • no smoking either.
    • after locking the car and walking a few meters or so, I go back to check whether I've locked it. It came to the point that my girl would remind me that it was locked already in the first place.
    • no leaning on the car. nakakatakot ang metal buttons kasi.
    • lagi may QD with MF ako sa trunk for quick touch-ups. irritating kasi yung oil left by fingerprints and the like (bird droppings, tree sap...)
    • windshield always clean dapat
    • I wax as often as possible. even though swirls are imminent eventually.
    • interior trim has to be cleaned by an APC mixture
    • vacuum with baking soda.. nyehehehe

    will try to post more.

hehe, ako naman sometimes pag large tiles I have to walk within them and not walk on the lines (their touching edges). Pag natapakan ko ung line with one foot, my next step should also touch a succeeding line para pantay. weird hehe.

Same here. I have to make sure everything's secure before I sleep. Personally I don't think it's abnormal. I think of it as a "heightened sense of security" hehe.

OT lang: *mikey177, may mga software that can list and arrange your dvd collection in a more graphically pleasing way. Some even look up the dvd covers pics and adds them to your database when you're online. I'll try to remember where I got a copy before and send the link to you.
