Here's another:

You have a 3 quart and a 5 quart bottles, and an infinite supply of water. How can you measure out exactly 4 quarts of water?

1. fill the 3 quart bottle and transer its contents to the 5 quart bottle
2. fill the 3 quart bottle and transfer its contents again to the 5 quart bottle
this leaves you with a quart of water in the 3 quart bottle.
3. throw away or take out the water in the 5 quart bottle and transfer the
1 quart water from the 3 quart bottle to the bigger bottle
4. fill the 3 quart bottle again and transfer it to the 5 quart botle. now you
now you have 4 quarts of water in the 5 quart bottle.
