    "scorched earth" strategy ba?

russia is probably the most radioactive country in the world. lots of places have been used to dump radioactive wastes, and most of the nukes they never got to use are probably wasting away, leaking radioactive crap all over the place. and some radioactive materials take around 200 years to break down. scary indeed

it was detonated 2 miles above the target, so nuclear fallout should be contained(daw)

It's probably a compound nuclear device to have such an exposive yield. It will denonate. If it does have a misfire, the yield will only be smaller.

due to the sheer size & weight of the said bomb... it is not feasible / practical for warfare. it was designed for a psychological advantage during the cold war.

high yield nuke weapons were developed before because of the lack of accuracy & information on strategtic military targets. in effect, nuke bombs before were desinged as city-killers.

most new nukes are now fitted to ICBMs that is accurate within meters of a said target. these are now pointed towards military targets instead of cities.
