Bank of P.I. – Sadista Na, Discriminatory Pa!
Why does Bank of P.I. continually make life “hell”
for its clients? I live in south Metro Manila and been
to BPI branches in Alabang Town Center (ATC),
SM-Southmall, BF Paranaque, and A-Z Road in Las Pinas.
The scenario is all the same: pagpasok mo pa lang, ang
Usually mga 2 to 3
tellers lang ang operational. Mga 10 to 20 people ang
Bakit yung ibang bangko
(e.g. – RCBC, PS Bank, Union Bank – where I also have
na may number, tapos may mga upuan where you can sit
down and read newspapers/magazines while waiting for your number to be called.
And to add insult to injury, meron isang teller’s window sa lahat ng
BANKING CLIENTS-Express Window”. I learned that this is for
BPI Gold Card Holders with P150 thousand and above credit limits.
She/he is greeted with a warm smile plus the words “Good Morning
Sir/Ma’M,.(walang ganito sa “pila balde” usually yung tellers matigas ang mukha at walang greeting)) The client then hands over her deposit/wdrawal slip . The Teller then tells the client to TAKE A SEAT while the transaction
Is being processed. In five to 10 minutes lang, tatawagin na siya and
Tapos na yung transaction! I should know, my wife is a gold card
Ayoko sana mag-rant when I start a thread but what finally made me
Write this is meron ako nakasabay sa pila na isang senior-citizen couple na nasa unahan ko. Nakatayo na kami ng close to 40 minutes when the “lolo” said sa kasama niya:
I offered to watch their place for them kaya
Lang like most oldies maprinsipyo sila so umalis na lang.
To Bank of PI: I know you are one of the biggest banks but that doesn’t give
you the right to treat your “small” depositors like ****! How come other banks
can extend simple courtesies and basic comfort to its depositors while you
can’t? Don’t you realize that these “small” depositors (savings deposits
of P50 thousand or less) make up the bulk of your clients and when
taken as a whole form a big bulk of your deposit portfolio? At ang mga
depositing ito ay pinagkakakitaan niyo for you lend this out at a
higher interest spread that your measly deposit rate?
MAHIYA NAMAN KAYO!!!! And to call your big depositors
“preferred”! Ano yung small depositors – “DESPISED”?
Ma karma sana kayo, you insensitive, discriminatory shylocks!

I have savings and checking accounts with them. I was told by the manager that if your ADB for 6-mos never dipped below 500K, you will be given a gold card and you'll be a preferred client.
Iniisip ko nga if I should get the Gold card. Parang maganda lang syang decoration sa wallet kasi kakaiba from the usual blue color of BPI atm cards, same ng Citibank N.A. cards, other than that, wala na.
Everyone likes being preferred and pampered diba. Baka yun lang yun.

sorry for the inconveniences with the bank. have that experiences too.
but heard that to avoid these things bpi is planning to make the passbook obsolete and in the meantime put up more small express bank branches to handle withdrawal and deposit transactions in addition to atm/e-banking.

Hi sir buriroy. Ipakita mo na me customer right to choose ka. I have seen the arrogance of that bank and calloousness to the need and comfort of its client, malaki man o maliit.
I did this a long time ago i.e. closed my account, when they were still the leading bank. Sabi ko duon sa manager ng bank babagsak sila if they do not change their attitude and indifference to clients. Ayun nangyari na nga. Metrobank is now no. 1 I think.

this is so true. sayang oras mo sa pag-pila sa bpi banks dito sa las pinas
from what i heard, the reason behind the teller scarcity in bpi banks is due to some labor union thing. sa dami daw na-absorb ng bpi na mga banko dati, iba't ibang union na daw ang kausap nila kaya ganun. ewan ko ba

Bwe- he-he!

Most big local banks have super long lines, numbered or not, you still have to wait...
With BPI, I've been using the branch inside Meralco compound, the odds of you seeing more than 5 folks lining up is really, really slim unless it's lunch time.
I go to that BPI and BDO branches 3-4x a month, rarely do I have to spend more than 15mins to finish up in both branches.
There's just too much red-tape with local bank processes like the annoying "Override pleayezzz..." hehehe.
Other than that, pare-parehas lang unless it's a small bank or a small-market location.
