Nowadays, I might not enjoy it given the increased number of vehicles on the road and some of the provinces have become more urbanized. Losing it's rural appeal.

I enjoy the drive every once in a while, if only to put eager beavers in their PPVs in their rightful place.

No point driving full speed at all times. Waste of gas, and tires, and it subjects the car to unnecessary stress.

It's like drugs. Driving at speeds that are "fast" for most people just feels ordinary for me, so I need to drive really really fast to get my kicks, and I only do that on the racetrack.

So nowadays I just try to amuse myself by trying to get the highest FC possible in provincial driving, while staying ahead of everyone else. It's possible to keep pace with overeager PPVs while keeping below 2000 rpm if you memorize the road. So far, 17.2 km/L in provincial driving is my personal best and it'd be hard to beat that unless I drive exclusively at night and don't make stops in towns.

I don't usually drive fast. I love taking in the scenery. But I get my kicks going up and down mountain roads, that's when I go full speed. Feeling rally driver kasi. Luckily I never ended up in the bottom of a ravine.[emoji1]

The scenery looks nice the first 20 times. Then it becomes part of routine.

The Narvacan-Santa coastline always gets me though. Also the road up to Baguio. But other provincial roads just all look alike.

The long drive from bacolod to dumaguete and then on to southern cebu was one of the best road trips i've had in recent years. Long mountain roads w/ koilometric stretches of straight well paved roads

Also the main thoroughfare of oriental mindoro is similarly a nice respite from the populated roads of mainland luzon. Once you get past through calapan, the roads open up considerably

I wish the Philippine islands were interconnected by long spanning bridges. For me, that would be the road trip of a lifetime. I get bored on roros.

The Cebu round south trip is one of the best with all the popular tourist spots along the way - whale watching, falls and white sand beaches! And the food is heavenly and price is relatively cheaper. Been dying to try my forester to take the route all the way to Negros and up the Kanlaon volcano ecopark but I cannot afford to take a loooong leave from work. Well, maybe when I finally retire...

^ astig nga iyong pag lakbay ng cebu circumferential road. Lots of sites to see and tons of yummy food to eat. The roads are well built but tend to be trafficky once you approach the urban centers...as expected.

Negros island is a revelation. Verdant rolling hills w/ lots of historic sites along the way. It's a picturesque Hassle free drive. Just make sure not to chance on mt. kanlaon doing a wicked temper tantrum 😂

When you get to Mango ave. and Escario, feeling mo nasa Manila ka na dahil sa traffic.😀

Anong restaurants? Nagbebenta ba sila ng frozen packs?
