If another year passes and I don’t get an increase, I am going to find a new company that’s going to give me one. It will be years now that I didn’t receive a pay increase or additional perk so I am already making the moves to look for something better.

Unfortunately,- some companies, bro,- are not that sensitive to the needs of their people....

Or, maybe bro.yubby24 was tagged as part of the company's red circle... And so, on those 7 years, he's getting annual lump sums vs. basic salary increases. On the side, does not add to the retirement plan, too...

Once you start looking for a replacement for the resource who left, you’re looking at candidates with asking rates more than giving the employee a 10% increase. Sometimes, with a strict budget, you end up hiring a less capable replacement since the market rate for resources has grown.

I conditioned myself not to expect any raise due to the pandemic.

I was pleasantly surprised that they gave me a good increase as they said my work contributed to the company retaining their biggest client.
