First time ko maka-meet ng Pinay dito.. tapos small world pa.. Yung binisita kp na site kahapon tuwang-tuwa ako sa branch nila.. Ang mga tao parang ka close ko na agad then.. Yung branch na dinalaw ko ngayon yung Pinay best friend nya yung na meet ko kahapon.. Ang galing!!! Small world..
Both mag best friend mabilis ko naka gaanan ng loob..

many years ago,
i opened an account at the local bank in the pacific northwest, as i was staying there for some time.
it was all business during the transaction. i almost ran out of english.

First Pinoys I've met in the US years ago other than those working in our HQ,- friendly Hotel Staff, Staff at a Laundry Shop who was encouraging me to go TNT, and Staff at a 7-11 store who would not want to have eye to eye contact, would not want to talk with me....

they were very friendly, in my experience.
my favorite was the canteen cashier,
"doc, baba ka dito sa canteen mamayang 3 pm."
"bakit?"
"may 50% off na burger sale."
"at doc... wag mo munang lagyan ng ketsup yung sandwich mo."
"bakit?"
"tinitimbang kasi yan. kuha ka na lang ng ketsup and mustard sachets. libre yon."

the best info shared with me, was looking for the Catholic Church.
we folks here, it's so easy to step into a Church for Mass.
over there, all of a sudden, we're the minority! walang Simbahan Catolico!

tingin kayo sa bintana nyo. may makikita kayong tulisan... ilang maikling kanto lang yan kung lalakarin.
and i did. and guess what! it's an iron Church! a clone of our San Sebastian Church!
Sunday Service was so unlike in the phils... only 1/4 to 1/3 full. mostly chinese, indians from india and pakistan. africans. some caucasians. ilan lang ang pilipino.

i am happy. reminiscing these experiences of yesterdecades past.
now, where did i hide the pictures? 'la pang digital noon...

Pinoys really are everywhere. When I visited the Dutch Caribbean (Aruba and Curacao) a while back, I met a Pinay there.

Same sakin meron ako nami meet na Pinoy pero di nakikipag usap.. So naisip ko na lang baka pinanganak dito sa US.. Pero kanina natuwa ako hindi siya nagdalawang isip mamansin.. Yey!
Madali ko nakagaanan ng loob mga hotel staff na hindi mga Pinoy (kahit ano pa lahi) lagi ako may mga special perks hahahaha.. palabati kasi ako since mag isa lang ako nagta travel.. enjoy dito lahat pwede batiin ng hi hello.. minsan kahit sa mga kinakainan ko kapag animated yung foreigner ina approach ko kahit baluktot English ko.. pasalamat na lang mga open minded lahat mga nakakabatian ko na foreigners at ready makipagkwentuhan..
Nasa Detroit na ako ngayon.. Grabe dito yung mga men and women of colors dito nagagwapuhan ako at nagagandahan.. tsaka enjoy sila kausap lagi ako tumatawa.. yung mga parang mga Mexican decent (I assume) sila naman ang mga sweet sakin.. Meron akong special access sa backroom ba yun hahahahahaha nakaka extra mineral ako..
Ay sabagay kahit pala yung puti sa Chicago.. Lagi ako may free.. free na sabon pang laundry.. free mineral water.. Wala lang kung sino pa kapwa Asian dito, sila yung hindi approachable..
Btw, kaya siguro namansin yung Pinay kanina.. sya yung number 1 employee nila sa branch since last year binanggit nya sakin kaya tingin ko mataas confidence level..

Na meet ko yung asawang puti ng friend ko dito sa Michigan.. Dinala nya ako sa Ford themed na resto.. Ang saya pala na may ganitong place dito na pwede tumambay at mag hang out with family and friends.. Kala ko kapag winter, ang mga kano asa bahay lang lagi..
